阅读下面短文,按照要求用英语回答问题。
Doctors say anger can be an extremely damaging emotion, unless you learn how to deal with it. They warn that anger can lead to heart disease, stomach problems, headaches, emotional problems and possible cancer.
Anger is a normal emotion that we all feel from time to time. Some people express anger openly in a calm reasonable way. Others burst with anger, scream and yell. But other people keep their anger inside. They cannot or will not express it. This is called repressing anger.
For years many doctors thought that repressing anger was more dangerous to a person’s health than expressing it. They said that when a person is angry, the brain releases the same chemical. They speed the heart rate, raise blood pressure, or sugar into the blood, etc. In general, the person feels excited and ready to act.
Some doctors say that both repressing and expressing anger can be dangerous. They believe that those who express anger violently may be more likely to develop heart disease, and they believe that those who keep their anger inside may face a greater danger of high blood pressure.
Doctors say the solution is learning how to deal with anger. They say the first step is to admit that you are angry and to recognize the real cause of the anger, then decide if the cause is serious enough to get angry about. If it is, they say, “Do not express your anger while angry. Wait until your anger has cooled down and you are able to express yourself calmly and reasonably.”
Doctors say that a good way to deal with anger is to find humor in the situation that has made you angry. They said that laughter is much healthier than anger.

七、阅读表达
阅读下面短文,并根据短文内容完成下列各题。
When I was in my second year in senior high school, I found a four-dollar-an-hour part-time job at Villanova Pizza. Like many of my friends, I longed to earn some pocket money from the job as well as gaining social experience. Just one week after I worked there, Stubby, the manager, called me into his office. As the saying goes, “life isn’t a bed of roses”. My first job ended in failure. His reason was that I showed up late twice and took more breaks than others. “Oh, I’m a loser,” I thought to myself. I believed that thought was shared by my brothers, neither of whom had ever been fired, and my mother, though she would never express it in those terms.
“I am too sad to do anything,” I complained to my father.
After listening to my words, he laughed.
“It’s not funny; I’m a loser,” I said.
“No, you’re not. This is a part of growing up. You will be all right, my dear daughter,” he said, patting my shoulder. “Trust me. You are good enough.”
I looked into my father’s eyes and I could see he really trusted me. And I believed him. Since then, “Trust me. You are good enough” are the only words I have repeated to myself. I have worked hard to be a better person and cherished every chance I have got.
Finally, I succeeded in entering a good university. After graduation I found my dream job. I couldn’t wait to call my father and show my gratitude.
Look ahead when you experience something unpleasant and there is always someone around believing in you. When they believe in us, we begin to believe in ourselves, too. They tell us we are good enough over and over until we can hear it.

Steve and Joanna have lived on the remote Bardsey Islanda major British nature reserve, since 2007. They moved there by responding to an advertisement looking for a family to run the island’s farm.
“ The children had loved holidays here and had no doubt about island life. But Steve and I wondered whether we could cope, being the only inhabitants in such a remote place, ” recalls Joanna “ But the role and place fitted us. ” The couple’s strong faith gives them a deep connection with the island.
Their life is demanding with just two of them managing the island’s farm, 30 cows and fragile ecosystems. Joanna also works for the RSPB Wildlife Charity and tries to grow enough vegetables to keep them self-sufficient. In general Joanna and Steve’s lives are a cycle of alternating solitude and interaction (孤独与互动的交替) “ In spring and summer the island becomes very busy with visitors, and I’m growing vegetables to sell and working in our café. By autumn I’m looking forward to winter. I long for some peace and privacy, and I love having time to be creative ” says Joanna.
Bardsey’s population doubled last Christmas when a second couple moved into the island — to look after the bird observatory “ We have each other round for meals and help each other out, ” says Joanna. “ It’s been lovely. Many people choose island life for similar reasons — whether it’s to escape the stress of big city life or its in search of new opportunities like starting a business. That tends to bring the community together. ”

A master of English education in China, Chen Lin just celebrated his 100th birthday in April. Chen has spent his whole life on English education.
In 1950, Chen started teaching at Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU). He was known as the “Professor of Three Ups”. He always put importance on “standing up” and “speaking up” in his classes. He always stood to teach and talked loudly. When class was over, he would “shut up” at once.
③Chen’s good teaching impressed students. LiJinzhao, one of Chen’s students and a teacher at BFSU now, said Chen likes role-playing and singing to make the class active. It was different from the “teacher speaks, students listen” style of the time. He also encouraged students to speak more and practice more.
In 1999, Chen led experts to make English curriculum standards (课程标准). Before that, English teaching goals from primary school to university didn’t connect well with each other. But the standards changed it. Then, English education worked like “one package (一条龙)”. He also wrote the first set of textbooks to carry out the new standards.
After leaving his job, Chen keeps on working. He reads and writes about how to improve English teaching. He once said, “I have been a teacher all my life, and I want to be an English teacher again in my next life.”

四、阅读表达
阅读短文,并按照题目要求用英语回答问题。
My dad is a kind, gentle man, and a man of few words. Throughout my life, he offered advice rarely. But the words were always appropriate to the situation I was facing.
As a teen when I struggled with making sense of the world around me, he said, “All things are relative.” He taught me the right view of the world. When I was offered the opportunity to be a manager of an organization as an undergraduate student, I asked him for advice because he was a senior manager of a large company. His advice was simple, “Only when you become the manager can you have a vision for how you can make the organization better; management isn’t about power and it’s about leadership.” I learned what I needed was not only to be responsible for my team but also to have leading ability. When I was feeling down, he explained, “Think that you make the wrong choices in life, sometimes.”
My dad is 86 now, living on his own and enjoying life while struggling with the challenges that aging brings. He keeps a positive attitude despite long pain and the losses that come in life. Although we live quite far away from each other, we talk daily on the phone, and he shares the joys of my young family. As I tell him how we’re heading off cycling or on a trip or out to play tennis, now his typical response is, “Do it while you can.” This is very important. We can’t be sure of the future. My father’s advice is like the ancient dictum (格言) of “carpe diem” — seize the day and enjoy it to the fullest.
My dad rarely “lectured me”. He trusted me, and helped me when I needed help. His patience and wisdom have been true gifts in my life As I doubt my ability and my motivation, I recall his most recent gift of wisdom, “Do it while you can”. It’s enough to “just get me started”.
51.Why did the author’s dad tell him “All things are relative” (no more than 10 words)
52.What qualities should a manager have according to the author (no more than 5 words)
53.What is the purpose of the author’s father talking with him on the phone every day (no more than 10 words)
