Step 1 Warming up
Listen to the “Color song”.
Step 2 Presentation
1.Show some pictures.
(教师向学生们展示自己做的各种颜色的字母卡片,教授字母Ss-Zz,并学习表示颜色的单词。)
2.Work on 1a.
Read the colors on the left, and then read the letters. Write the letters for each color. Then check the answers.
Step 3 Listening
Work on 1b.
Look at the picture in 1a. Some students are talking about the colors and letters. Now let Ss listen to the recording first. Then repeat after it.
Step 4 Pair work
Look at the picture in 1a. Practice the conversations in the picture with your partner. Then make your own conversations. e.g.
S1: What's this
S2: It's U.
S1: What color is it
S2: It's white.
Step 5 Listening
Work on 2a & 2b.
1.Recite Aa~Rr.
2.Learn the letters Ss~Zz.
Listen to the letters. (2a.) Ss read out the letters Ss~Zz.
3.Let Ss try to remember the letters Ss~Zz. 
Work on 2b.
Listen and number the letters you hear [1-8]. 
Step 6 Writing
Work on 2c.
1.Learn how to write these letters. First, look at the picture carefully in 2c. Then, tell us how to write these English letters.
2.Ss read and find out the writing rules of the letters Ss~Zz.
S1:大写字母和小写字母t都是占上两格。
S2: 字母s、u、v、w、x、z占中间的一格。
S3:字母y占下两格。
3.Ss try to copy the letters by themselves.
4.Let some Ss come to the front, and write down the letters on the blackboard. Check with the whole class.
Step 7 Practice
Work on 2d.
1.Look at the picture in 2d. Try to write down the missing letters. Check the answers with your partner.
3.Let some Ss come to the front and write down the missing letters on the blackboard.
Step 8 Read and Talk
Work on 2e.
1.Look at the pictures in 2e. Let some Ss read the letters below each picture.
2.Let some Ss talk about the meaning of each picture.

1.练习用英语询问你知道的事物的颜色。
2.背诵字母Ss~Zz。
Step 1 Warming up and revision
1.Review the colors and the letters Ss~Zz. Let some Ss recite the letters. Then let some Ss come to the front and write them on the blackboard.
2.Review the conversations. e.g.
T: What's this
Ss: It's S.
T: What color is it
Ss: It's yellow.
3.Ss ask and answer about different color letters in pairs.
Step 2 Listening
Work on 3a.
Look at the pictures in 3a. Let Ss talk about the names of the objects in English.
e.g.
T: What's this?    S1: It's a cup.
T: What's this?    S2: It's a ruler.
T: And what's this?  S3: It's a key.
Work on 3b.
T: Please look at the chart.
(Tell Ss that they need to fill in the correct words for the color of each item.)
Then check the answers.
Work on 3c.
Look at the chart. You should write the things you hear in the conversation in the left column. Then write down the colors of the things in the right column.
Then let some Ss read their words in the chart to check the answers. 
Step 3 Pair work
Work on 3d.
1.Make conversations using the things in 3a-3c.e.g.
T: What's this in English
S1: It's a key.
T: Spell it, please.
S1: K E Y.
T: What color is it
S1: It's yellow.
2.Ss work with their partners and make other conversations using the things in 3a-3c. Then let some pairs act out their conversations.
Step 4 Writing
Work on 4a.
1.询问学生们,在什么日常生活用品上能找到26个英文字母,学生很快会想到计算机的键盘。然后,向学生们出示一个真正的计算机键盘。
2.Look at the picture in 4a. Work with your partners and find the letters from A to Z. Then point at the letter from A to Z several times with your fingers.
3.Can you write the small letter beside each big letter Now write the small letter beside each big letter.
4.Let some Ss check the answers.

Work on 4b.
Listen and sing the alphabet song.
Work on 4c.
1.告诉学生们这是有关元音字母a、e、i、o、u在单词中发音规则的总结,同学们认真听,看能否听出左右两个方框中发音的不同。

【观察】 What color is it
【探究】 “What color…?”是用来询问物体颜色的常用句型,其结构如下:
(1)What color is+单数可数名词/不可数名词?
答语: It's+颜色.
—What color is the pen
这支钢笔是什么颜色的?
—It's black./Black. (它是)黑色的。
(2) What color are+可数名词复数?
答语: They're+颜色.
—What color are the cups
这些杯子是什么颜色的?
—They're red./Red.
(它们是)红色的。
【拓展】 某些表示颜色的单词还可以用来表示人的姓氏,但表示姓氏时,第一个字母必须大写。

【观察】 The key is yellow.
【探究】 定冠词the与指示代词this,that同源,有“这(那)个”的意思,但意义较弱,可以与一个名词连用,表示某个或某些特定的人或物,常见用法:
1.特指双方都明白的人或物。

2.上文提到过的人或物。
I have a pen. The pen is blue.
我有一支钢笔。这支钢笔是蓝色的。
