单元教材分析:
本单元主要是学习情态动词can 的肯定句、否定句、一般疑问句及其肯定回答与否定回答以及特殊疑问句的构成与用法。本单元主要围绕“加入俱乐部,谈论自己的能力”这一话题展开教学的。设计了三个任务型活动:任务一是:自己的才艺表演,学习情态动词can的用法。任务二是:建立俱乐部,运用情态动词can谈论自己在某方面的能力、喜好与意愿。任务三是:我能成功,主要是复习巩固谈论各自的爱好和特长的方法。
单元学情分析:
本单元的主题是运用情态动词can谈论能力,通过对语言目标的学习使学生能够表达自己在某一方面所具备的才能;通过谈论彼此的爱好与特长培养一种群体意识。在以前的学习中,学生已经学习了一些行为动作的表达,而教学 “谈论能力”只是将情态动词can用于这些表达中;情态动词can在肯定句、否定句和疑问句中的构成,和学生已经学过的be 动词结构有相同的地方,教师在教学中要善于引导学生,以便加强记忆。
Teaching aims:
1) Master key words and phrases:
dance, sing, swim,play the guitar, draw, chess, play chess, speak, speak English, join, club, music club.
2) Master key structures: Can you swim' Yes,I can./No,I can't.
I want to join the art club.
3) Let students know the usage of modal verb “can”.
4) Learn to talk about somebody's abilities.
5) Improve students’ listening and speaking skills.

Teaching procedures:
Step1 warming up
1) Greet the whole class as usual and check the work.
2) Play an English song.
For students to enjoy and get them in ready
Step2 Presentation
1) T: Do you like the song
Can you sing Can you dance
(Using the question sentences to get students to know new vocabulary and sentence pattern “Can you ____ )
2) Teach new words by enjoying teaching pictures.
3) Check students’ memory (快乐链接).
4) Get students match the activities with the people in 1a.
5) Let students find out the names of clubs.
Step3 Listening
1) Have students read the listening material before, and let students listen carefully and number the conversations.
2) Check the answers and give students’ encouragement.
3) Play the recorder for the students to listen and repeat.
(Correct the pronunciation if necessary)
Step4 Pair work
1)Ask the students to practice the conversations with a partner in the sample. Then make their own conversations.
(Give students several minutes to work with each other, the teacher walks around the classroom to check their work. Offer the help as needed.)
2)Ask some pairs of students to role-play their own conversations by target language in front of class.
(Train students’ confidence and show their ability.)
Step5 Summary
In this class, we have learnt some new words to talk about somebody’s abilities .And know the simple structure of modal verb “can”.
肯定句: I can dance.
否定句: I can not (can’t) dance. ( can 后加“not”)
疑问句: Can you dance ( 把can提句首)
肯定回答: Yes, I can.
否定回答: No, I can’t.
