教学过程
Step 1 Greetings
T:Greet the students as usual.
Step 2 New words
Show some pictures of the new words on the screen. Ask students to try to read these words:bike, train, subway, car, ship, boat, bus, airplane
A word game. Ask the students to look through the new words quickly, then check how many they can remember. Give students some pictures about the new words and some word cards. The teacher shows the new words or the pictures of the new words on the screen. If the teacher shows the word “train” to the students, the student who got the picture of the train should stand up quickly and say “I’m here!” And so on.)
Step 3 Practice
Show the picture of 1a on the screen and get the students to match the words with the pictures.
Step 4 Listening
Ask students to look at the picture in their books. Ask them some questions about the picture:
What can you see in the picture How many people are there in the picture What are they doing
And then, play the recording twice for the students to listen and ask the students to finish Activity 1b.
Step 5 Pair work
Show the picture of 1a and the answer of 1b on the screen and the teacher asks a student:
How does Mary get to school Help him/her to answer:She takes the subway. Then ask another two students to practice the same dialogue. And then make up other dialogues according to the picture and the answer of 1b.
Step 6 Presentation
Ask one student:How old are you And then get another student to guess the teacher’s age to help them to go over the numbers. Then show some numbers on the screen one by one on the screen and get the student to speak them out.
Step 7 Listening
2a Play the tape for the students to listen and repeat and then write down the numbers they hear on their books.
Step 8 Practice
Show a short video on the screen:A:How do you get to school B:I walk. A:How long does it take B:It takes about 20 minutes. A:How far is it from your home to the school B:Only about 2 kilometers. And then get some pairs to act out the dialogue.
Step 9 Listening
2b Play the tape for the students to listen and complete the chart. Play at least twice. And
then ask some students to write down their answers on the blackboard.
