一、教学内容分析
教学内容 《英语》（外研版）八（上）M11U2
教学目标 知识目标 能通过略读理解课文结构，并获取细节信息；学习使用情态动词“can, can’t, must, mustn’t”描述习俗；
技能目标 能结合家乡生活习俗及实际，向外宾介绍并提出参观访问的建议；
情感目标 了解英国人的生活习俗（称呼、下午茶、饮食、公共场合排队等）；通过对比中英不同的文化习俗，建立尊重、开放、兼容的文化观。
教学重点 学习使用恰当的情态动词表述规则及建议：You must / can …when you…
教学难点 因缺乏国外生活体验，学生在理解和接受英国文化及习俗存在一定困难；学生在表述地方习俗内容时可能存在部分语言障碍。

1-2 Warming-up Show students a song with some pictures of England. 通过片段展示，激活关于本课文的背景知识，促使学生进入学习状态。
3-6 Lead-in Introduce Wang Hui and his journey to England. Have Ss look into the two pictures on P90 and talk about them. Present and learn some new words. 引出课文主人翁及其在英国的所见所闻，通过两幅画面，结合语境，学习生词。
7-16 Skimming Guess the meaning of experience with the help of the sentences and pictures. Get the main idea of the passage from Para.1 and match headings with para2-5 and find out 4 experiences in England 通过情境，猜测生词，并通过主题段落了解全文信息，理解作者写作意图。
Ask students to think about the structure of the passage and show them something about the opening paragragh and body paragraphs. 通过前面的铺垫，让学生划分文章结构，并教授段落相关知识
17-35 Close-reading Read through the 2nd paragraph and complete the sentences.Get Ss to read the 3rd paragraph and answer questions. Have Ss read Para.4 and fill in blanks.Go on with Para.5 and try to get the implication of the gentleman’s question. Check the different experiences that Ss have in their real life. 针对课文描述的四段经历，分别开展不同形式的理解检测，重点针对中英习俗展开比对。理解部分文句的深层含义，树立良好的文化价值观。
36-40 Post-reading Ask students the same question again: What do they think of England now. What they can learn from the passage.What advice would you give Rowan Atkinson if he comes to China for a visit Get Ss to work on the questions in Activity 5 and make a report. 整理从课文所学知识，检测所了解的英国习俗。学以致用，尝试使用英语向外宾传达中国各地的文化习俗。促使学生尊重差异，建立开放、兼容的文化观。
