情态动词may / might表示“可能”的用法
1． 情态动词may/might表示可能
如果要表达“某人可能做某事”或“将来某事有可能发生”，可以用情态动词may或might表示。如：
I may go to Alaska one day.
将来有一天我可能会去阿拉斯加。
It might be cloudy in two days. 两天后可能会多云。
注意：may和might的比较：
（1）用于第一人称的疑问句中表示“征求；许可”时，might的语气比may更加委婉、缓和。如：
May I speak to him now =Might I speak to him now
我现在可以和他讲话吗？
（2）用于陈述句中表示“可能”或“猜测”时，might比may的可能性要小。如：
He may come a little later.
=He might come a little later.他可能会晚点来。
（3）might可以用于虚拟语气，但may不可以。如：
You might help him if you had time now.
如果你现在有时间，你也许可以帮助他。
（4）与as well搭配，组成固定短语may/might as well。如：
You may as well give him the letter.
你还是把信给他为好。
2.用其他词表示可能
表示“可能”的方式有很多种，除使用情态动词may/might以外，还可以使用具有“可能”含义的形容词和副词，如possible, possibly, probably, maybe等。如：
