一、教学目标:
1. 知识目标:
词汇:panda, zoo, tiger, elephant, koala, lion, giraffe, animal, cute, lazy, smart, beautiful, scary, kind, kind of, Australia, south, Africa, pet, leg, cat, sleep
句型:Why do you like pandas ----Because they are very cute.
Where are lions from ----They are from South Africa.
2. 技能目标:
让学生掌握常用动物的表达法和它们的特征,学会阐述喜欢它们的理由。学会询问并回答动物来自于哪个国家。
3. 情感目标:
通过对动物的学习,增强对动物的了解,增强保护动物的意识。

难点:国家名称的学习

任务型教学法,情景教学法,交际法
四、教学过程:
Step1: Lead-in
Watch a short video about pandas.
Step2: Presentation
1. challenge1: Listen and see to know what animal it is.
teach : panda, tiger, elephant, koala, lion, giraffe.
2. teach the plural form and pronunciation of the animal nouns:
animal-animals; panda-pandas; tiger-tigers; elephant-elephants; koala-koalas; lion-lions; giraffe-giraffes.
3. Let’s chant:
Animal, animal ,I like animals.
Tiger , tiger, I like tigers.
Elephant, elephant, I like elephants .
Giraffe, giraffe, I like giraffes.
Panda, panda, I like pandas .
Koala, koala , I like koalas.
Lion, lion, I like lions.
4. Match the words with the animals in the picture.
5. Describe(描述)the animals with adjectives(形容词).
tiger: big, scary…
elephant: big, friendly…
koala: cute, lazy…
panda: cute, beautiful, shy…
lion: ugly, scary…
giraffe: beautiful, tall, interesting…
dog, cat: friendly, fun and smart…
( teach the new adjectives : cute, lazy, beautiful, smart, scary)
Step3: Listening.
1.Listen and check the (√) the animals you hear in 1a.
Step4: Pairwork.
Practice the conversation with your partner. Then make conversations about the other animals in 1a. Use the words in the box.
A: Let’s see the lions.
B: Why do you want to see them
A: Because they’re interesting.
Step5: Listening and practicing.
1. Listen and write the animals you hear. Draw a line from the animals to the description words and the countries they are from.
2. Listen again. Complete the conversation with the words in 2a.
3. Present the conversation on ppt:
Julie: Let’s see the pandas, John.
John: Why do you like them, Julie
Julie: Because they’re kind of interesting.
John: Where are they from
Julie: They’re from China.
John: Well, I like koalas.
Julie: Why do you like them
John: Because they’re very cute and they’re from Australia.
Julie: Well, I don’t like lions.
John: Why don’t you like them
Julie: Because they’re really scary.
John: Where are they from
Julie: Most of them are from South Africa.
( boys act as John, girls act as Julie)
4. Practice the conversations like this:
A: John: Well, I like koalas.
Julie: Why do you like them
John: Because they’re very cute .
Julie: Where are they from
John: They are from Australia.
B: Julie: Well, I don’t like lions.
John: Why don’t you like them
Julie: Because they’re really scary.
John: Where are they from
Julie: They are from South Africa.
Step6: Role-play the conversation.
1. Read the conversation in 2d and answer the questions.

Does Jenny like the cat Why
2. Role play the conversation. One is Jenny, the other is Peter.
Jenny: Your dog is really cute, Peter!
Peter: He’s my new pet, Dingding. He’s very smart.
Jenny: Really What can he do
Peter: He can walk on two legs. He can dance, too.
Jenny: Wow!
Peter: Does your family have a pet
Jenny: My mom has a big cat, but I don’t like her.
Peter: Why don’t you like the cat
Jenny: Well, because she’s kind of boring. She sleeps all day, and her name is Lazy.
Peter: Haha, then that’s a good name for her!
Step7: Homework
1.Write down the animals we have learned.
2.Make a survey: Ask your group members what animals they like and why.
