My life is always filled with sadness and little joy. However, no matter what happens, I can face it bravely all the time.
Last year, I couldn’t believe the news that I was allowed to go into the only key high school in my hometown. Then I rushed to my home and told it to my parents. But my father didn’t seem as excited as I was. He just kept smoking without saying a word, and my mother put her head down and couldn’t help crying.
I knew very well what my family was like. My mom had been ill in bed for about 2 years. We lived a hard life and I couldn’t go on my schooling. I felt so upset but I could say nothing to my parents. I made a decision to help my father with his work to support my family.
To my surprise, things completely changed before the beginning of the new term. My head teacher came to my family with some money, which had been raised by my schoolmates. He encouraged me, “Always have a dream no matter what hard life you have.” With tears in my eyes, I stepped into the key high school.
I have been studying hard since I went into the high school. No matter when I meet difficulties, I always think of my teacher and my schoolmates. I have a college dream and I must work hard for it, no matter how hard life is. Just as a great man says, “When one door shuts, another opens in life.”

Today, an increasing number of people are always looking at their mobile phones with their heads down. These people are called the “Head-down Tribe (低头族)”. Are you a head-down tribe member Head-down members now can be seen everywhere.
More and more traffic accidents are happening because more drivers use mobile phones when they are driving. In order to make drivers pay more attention to driving, some new traffic rules have been made. For example, people who use mobile phones while driving in Taiwan are fined(罚款). Car drivers and motorcyclists(骑摩托车的人)who break the rule will be fined NT(新台币)$3,000 and NT $1,000 respectively.
As we can see above, using mobile phones may cause accidents and even cost a lot of money. Also, more and more interesting and strange facts happen to the “Head-down Tribe”. When he lifted his eyes on his phone, he was so scared that he turned around and ran away as quickly as possible. Another fact is that we can often see people in the restaurant eating face to face but looking at their own mobile phones. It’s strange that they don’t talk to the ones who sit opposite to them during the meal. Some of them even often have fun communicating with others on the phone.
