Travelling Alone in Toronto
Travelling alone can be frightening.I have travelled by myself many times but there was always someone to meet me at the other end of the train or plane journey. This time was different.Last week I had a holiday from work, but none of my friends had the same week off.But I still booked a train ride to Toronto and a bed in a hotel for one week.
One week by myself!Would I be lonely Quite the opposite! In fact, there were many benefits.Firstly,I was able to do whatever I wanted.I spent hours in museums that would have seemed boring to some of my friends.I walked all around the city, which some people may have found too tiring.Secondly,I discovered my independence and developed map-reading skills. Finally, being in the safe environment of a hostel with travellers also gave a great chance to meet new people from all over the world.
However, there were some disadvantages of travelling alone.I missed having someone to talk to.Eating in a restaurant or cooking in the hostel was less fun on my own.Besides, without a travel partner,I won’t be able to laugh about and recall my Toronto adventure with friends in years to come.
I am very proud of myself for travelling alone and I had a fantastic time in Toronto. However,in the future,I think I will always prefer to travel with another person or in a small group.Though, maybe it depends on whom I travel with—I would rather be by myself than with someone who is lazy!

I have dreamed of taking a trip to Hawaii since I graduated, but the best thing always needs waiting.I took a trip with my fiends to Haleakala National Park, which lies in Hawaii.
When we arrived at Haleakala National Park,we were advised to watch the early morning sunrise.I was lost in the sightseeing that afternoon,so I could hardly wait to meet the sunrise. In the next morning,we all jumped out of the bed very early at 3 o’clock and walked to the rocks by the seaside. In the first half an hour,we imagined how wonderful it would be when the first light came out through the thick clouds and how soft it would be when the light touched our skin,so we waited and waited. However, another half an hour later,I gradually lost my patience since there was nothing but the chilly darkness, and I felt that I was frozen to death. But my friends were still extremely cheerful.

第一节
Dear Jim,
I’m pleased that you’re coming to tour in China.
I suggest that you begin from Beijing, and I’ll show you around.Tianjin will be your next stop. After that, you can go to Shanghai, where you can stay for a week.It is convenient for you to take high-speed trains to both cities.Summer in these cities is hot and rainy,so take summer clothes plus an umbrella with you.
I’m looking forward to your arrival.
Yours,
Li Hua
第二节
Paragraph 1:
It was long before I went skating once again, accompanied by one of my friends. This time I was careful and cautious, and my friend took special care of me.I was so fortunate this time that I managed not to fall down.Gradually I learned to skate well and became skillful.I felt very confident and no longer scared.
Paragraph 2:
However, ever since then I haven’t found any time to go skating, not because I do not like skating, but because I am too busy working.I’ve learned a lot from these two skating experiences. We all have moments of desperation. But if we can face them bravely, that’s when we find out how strong we really are.Whatever you do,you must have the patience to do it as well as the skill.Remember:never get conceited because of victory or lose heart in case of failure.
