Unit 3 How do you get to school
Period 3 Section B 1a~1e
Teaching aims and demands:
1.Talk about how to get to places and choose the right transportation.
2. Practice listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
3. Let students work in pairs to learn the cooperative learning.
Teaching main points:
Master the target language such as “how, how long, how far” “first I ride my bike, then…”.
Teaching difficult point:
Lead students to know how to talk about transportation by using “first and then”.
Moral object:
Educate students to love their grandparents.
Teaching procedures:
Step One: Revision
Let students enjoy a MTV and find out the ways of transportation in it. Then revise the “how, how long, how far” questions.
Step Two: Lead-in
Use pictures to lead in the new words and ask them to finish the task in 1a.
Step Three: Presentation
Show pictures to students to present how to use “first, then”. Ask students to make their own conversations according to the example in 1b.
Step Four: Listening
Ask students to read the list of information in 1c and 1d, then play the recording three times for them to finish the listening tasks. Check the answers.
Step Five: Practice
Let students talk about how Bob gets to his grandparents’ home and then complete the article.
Make a survey about how your classmates get to their grandparents’ home and give a report.
Talk about how to get to the Great Wall and the West Lake.
