3. Enable students to have a good understanding of different reading strategies, develop their reading abilities.
4. Guide students to know that parents and schools make rules to help themselves.
5. Cultivate students’ ability to cooperate and arouse their interest in learning English.

Show a picture of Molly, have a guess:

Step 3 While reading
1. Read quickly for background information

2. Read the 1st letter carefully, underline rules for Molly.
Invite one student to underline on the screen. Check the answers together.
3. Write down the rules, fill in the chart

Molly: I know, Mom, but it is so early!
Mom: Get up now, so you can have enough time for breakfast.

Share your rules with us, and tell the reasons.
Step 5 Summary
Our parents and school are always strict with us, but they want to help us to be better. As an old saying says: “Nothing can be accomplished without rules and standards.” So try to understand your teachers and parents, because they love us best.
