Teaching important points:

Teaching difficult points:
1.Talk about recent past events.
2.Practice students' listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
Analysis of the students: The students have learned English for nearly one year so far. They can understand and use some words and some simple sentences. They have taken a great interest in English.
Analysis of teaching materials: This unit is from ”go for it” for students of Grade 7. The topic of this unit is talking about recent past events. So this unit is very interesting. This is the fourth period of the whole unit. Students would be interested in it.
Teaching and learning Goals:
1. 语言知识及功能:
(1)能正确使用下列词汇造句子:fly, kite
(2)能正确使用下列短语造句子:do homework,sing and play the guitar,stay at home,study for a test,have dinner with friends,go to the library,fly a kite,swim in a swimming pool, visit my sister
(3).能熟练运用下列词汇的一般过去时态完成对话:
did, stayed, was, had, studied, went, sang, played, flew, swam, visited
(4).能听懂用一般过去时描述的事情,理解其大意,从中获取相关信息。

1.自主学习、小组合作探究和Role-playing.
2.学会利用听力技巧捕捉关键信息,预测听力内容。
3. 情感目标:学会科学合理地安排闲暇时间,争取做到劳逸结合。

Preview
1 Write the past tense of the following verbs.
2 Ask the students to translate the following Chinese into English.

(设计意图:本部分词组和句子单词为学生的预习作业,词组和句子都是本节课的重要语言知识,该部分预习内容可以帮助学生更有目的听。为下一步听扫除障碍,降低听力难度,同时通过检测学生的预习效果,教师可以更有针对性地教,学生可以更有针对性的学。)
Step Ⅱ.Warming up and lead-in.
1. Play a guessing game: Listen and guess “What’s my job ”
(设计意图:让学生听句子,通过辨别句中的动词来判断职业,可以迅速把学生带入到一般过去式的语境中。)
2. Introduce Dory and Nemo to the Ss and say, “Let’s go and see what Dory did yesterday.”
T: What did Dory do at 8:00 yesterday
S1: He read a book.
T: What did Dory do at 9:00 yesterday?
S2: He studied geography.

(设计意图:通过观看《海底世界》主人公Dory在过去某一时刻做的事情,激起学生兴趣,引导学生表达含有一般过去时的句子。)
Step3. Presentation:
1. Pairwork: Show a picture of some actions. Get the Ss to say out what you did yesterday.
T: Boys and girls, what did you do yesterday
S1: I got up at 6:00 / ….
S2: I brushed my teeth…

1. Listen and repeat.
Let students listen to the recording and repeat after it to get their pronunciations right.

2. Role-play
Task1: Use the chart to role-play a conversation between Sally and Jim .
