The Mouse Game (The Philippines)
In this game, a piece of string is tied to the player’s hand. One part of the string represents (代表) the “cat” while the other part is the “mouse”. The aim of the game is for the cat to catch the mouse and for the mouse to escape just in time. It teaches you to focus and move your fingers fast.

Nigerian-American musician Davido has announced he will offer more than $600,000 to orphanages (孤儿院) across Nigeria, after hosting an online call that initially caused amusement and confusion from his fans.
“If you know I've given you a hit song…send me money,” the singer wrote on Twitter earlier this week.
Known for his songs “Dami Duro” and “Fall”, Davido has been one of Africa's most famous artists over the last ten years and is the African artist with the highest number of followers on Instagram.

In India, the country with the world’s second-highest number of Covid-19 cases, some hospitals have started to use robots to connect patients with their loved ones, and assist healthcare workers.
Bangalore-based Invento Robotics has designed three robots to carry out tasks including cleaning surfaces, answering patients questions and enabling video consultations (咨询) with doctors.
Of the eight the company has so far used the most popular model is Mitra. Using facial-recognition (面部识别) technology, the robot can remember the names and faces of patients it has contacted. Mitra can travel around a hospital independently, helping patients connect with family and doctors via its cameras and a video screen.
“Mitra can be the nurse’s or doctor’s assistant, take readings and vitals, remind them of medicines,” says Balaji Viswanathan, CEO of Invento Robotics.
He says the human-like robot interacts with patients and gains their trust. “It may sound funny but we are using robots to bring humanity (Aft) to hospitals,” he tells CNN Business.
Yatharth Hospital in the city of Noida, northern India has deployed two Mitra robots --one at its entrance to screen patients and the other in the ICU (intensive care unit).
“Inside our ICU, Mitra helps patients connect with their families through video and gives the patient’s family a look inside,” hospital director Kapil Tyagi tells CNN Business.
“Patients get happy and positive whenever the robot visits them. They are often taking photos with Mitra,” he says.
Viswanathan says Invento uses “best in class security“ for video feeds between doctors, patients and their families. For in-depth telemedicine consultations a booth is built around the robot to give patients privacy.
28.What does the underlined phrase “carry out” in Paragraph 2 probably mean

It’s hard to turn down a tasty banana. They taste good and you don’t have to wash them before eating them. However, British scientists say that the fruit may disappear by 2050.
One reason for this is climate change. Scientists at the University of Exeter collected data from 27 countries and regions that produce 86 percent of the world’s bananas. They found that climate change has improved growing conditions in 21 of these countries. In the past 60 years the average yield has reached 1.37 tons of bananas per hectare.
However, if temperatures keep rising, this advantage will disappear. Ten of the countries, including India, the world’s biggest producer of bananas, will produce fewer bananas. By 2050, the fruit may die out.
Shouldn’t bananas grow more easily if it’s hotter outside In fact, the perfect temperature range for growing bananas is between 24℃ and 32℃. If temperatures get too high, they will stop growing.
Another reason for this phenomenon is diseases. Unlike other crops, the bananas we grow come from shoot cuttings rather than seeds. This means that all banana plants have the same genotype. In other words, if a disease is able to kill one plants it could kill them all.
One serious disease is called Panama. Caused by fungus(真菌)in the soil, it spreads easily. It has spread across South Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Australia. If one banana plantation suffers from the disease, it will take 30 years until it is able to grow bananas again. Scientists have not found a cure for this disease.
32.What does the underlined word “this” in Paragraph 2 refer to
A.People’s love for bananas. B.The taste of bananas.
C.The future disappearance of bananas. D.The convenience of eating bananas
33.What might happen if temperatures keep going higher
A.More countries will start to grow bananas.
B.Bananas will not be able to grow any more.
C.Bananas will grow better in most countries.
D.Bananas won’t be as tasty as before.
34.How many reasons for the disappearing of bananas are mentioned in the text
A.Two. B.Three. C.Four. D.Five.
35.What does Paragraph 5 tell us
A.What diseases bananas may suffer from. B.How bananas are grown.
C.How diseases can easily kill bananas. D.Which diseases can kill bananas.

“Surprise!” was the first thing I heard when I opened the door. My family and friends were all smiling at me. There were colorful balloons all over the house, a big poster saying "HAPPY BIRTHDAY'', and of course a cake with 12 candles. It was a wonderful feeling. I knew that I had finally turned twelve and I might possibly get the thing I wanted most.
I saw my mom and dad coming towards me with a small box which seemed to be a birthday present. When I opened the box, I couldn't believe my eyes. I had really gotten a mobile phone! Throwing myself into their arms, I let out a cry of joy, “Thank you! I love you guys!”
“You're welcome. We knew this was going to make you happy but we didn't only get you this because you turned twelve, but also because you are doing well in school. We expect you to keep getting good grades."
“Of course I will." I said confidently.
As soon as I got to school the next morning, I was showing off my phone and asking everyone for their number. It was cool how I got so many contacts on the first day.
It felt like I didn't even exist in that class anymore. I wouldn't pay much attention to the teachers because I was too busy on my phone. However, I didn't get caught using it.
I am pretty sure that the teacher did notice that I stopped paying attention to her because a week later we took a test and I failed. What was worse, my mom had to sign the test.
It was hard to show my mom the test. She was used to seeing A's and B's on my tests. Finally, I showed it to her, and she couldn't believe it. She was angry but most of all, she was disappointed.

66.
I hope everything goes well with you. It’s a pity that you can’t come to school because of the outbreak of the novel coronavirus. Since we have recovered our normal life, I would like to share with you our current life and learning.
After a period of online classes, the students have a high enthusiasm for learning at school. We also cherish the time in the classroom, which makes our study more efficient than before. As for the epidemic situation, China has formulated more precise epidemic prevention policies, which have protected people’s lives and health more effectively. The epidemic has been effectively controlled, and people’s lives have gradually returned to normal.
I hope you don’t worry. With the improvement of the epidemic, we will meet at school in the future and enjoy our study and life together.
67.
Realizing the reason for my failure, my parents started to dislike the fact that I had a phone. They said they had noticed that I never paid attention to them. It was like I had my own little world. So they thought we didn't communicate as much with my phone. They regretted having given me a phone, which made me ignore the family and study.
Then I started to wonder if I was wrong. A week later I tried going a whole day without a phone and it didn’t go that badly. I had so much fun because I was actually spending time with my family and paying attention to them. From that day, I had a different opinion towards phones. Phones really take you away from the rest of the world. I' m not saying that phones are bad and not to use them, but you do have to spare some time to spend with your family and not get stuck with your phone all day.
