Notice
To enrich students’ school life, our school is to organize an activity — “Opera Entering Campus”.
As scheduled, the activity will start on this Friday afternoon in the school lecture hall. At the beginning, the headmaster will deliver a speech at the opening ceremony, making a short introduction to Chinese opera. After that, several wonderful opera performances will be put on by some local actors. Finally, interaction with the actors will wait for us.
Hopefully, you’ll have a better understanding of Chinese opera. Looking forward to your participation!

Her warm invitation actually filled me with mixed feelings. On the one hand, I felt extremely excited that I was the only fan who got the priceless opportunity. I admired Raine very much and was eager to stay with her a little longer. On the other hand, I was scared of riding a roller coaster. The thought of having a try nearly pushed me to the verge of collapse. However, I must take the chance and it didn’t take much time to make my final decision. Calling up my courage, I nodded firmly and went to the roller coaster with her.
My friend came up and asked, "Are you sure you will take the Loudest Scream " “Yes, ” I answered without hesitation. She was rather surprised, with her mouth open and eyes widened. After all, she had spent years trying to persuade me but in vain. Fears of heights and moving too fast seemed unimportant to me now. Although I screamed during the entire time like a girl being chased by a hungry wolf, spending a good time with my idol made all of it worthwhile and my fear was miraculously overcome. And since then, I have lived in a world where I am a bit braver.

M: Oh! Is it open on Saturdays
W: Yes. It’s only closed on Mondays. I went on a Thursday.

W: It’s fifteen miles from here. It took about twenty minutes to get there and about thirty to get home because the roads were busier then. Here’s a map for your parents.
M: Thanks.
W: When I went, there was a special plant exhibition but they’re having a study day for teenagers there soon about different kinds of clouds.
M: Do I have to pay for the study day
W: You’re fourteen, aren’t you
M: Yes.
W: Well, you won’t because it’s free for students who are your age or younger. But it costs 18 for students who are sixteen or older.
M: Thanks. I’ll tell my parents.
Text 10
W: Yesterday, I went to a place called Sidelli with my family. It was really interesting. On the morning, we visited a theater. It was built 2,000 years ago beside the sea and people used to watch plays there in the open air. There used to be an old fishing village nearby. After that, we had a guided tour. Rather than go to the old palace, which is full of tourists, our guide took us up a hill and showed us around what’s left of a library. Most of it had fallen down, but it still had a fantastic atmosphere. We then took a bus into the countryside for lunch, and we ate next to a waterfall. Afterwards, we took a walk from there to a lake. In the afternoon, we chose to go on one of two different factory tours. One factory made pots and plates, which sounded dull to me, and one produced carpets. That was the one we went on. There were lots of traditional designs, all made by local people. It was Amazing. That was the last thing we did that day.听第9段材斜,回答第13-16题。
