Teaching Procedures
Step 1. Warm up and lead in
Game I : What animals can you see
Show the pictures of animals by PPT quickly, then ask the students what animals they can see in the pictures. (Help students to review the words of animals)
Game II: Listen to the sounds and guess what animal they are.
Cat, dog, lion, elephant
Step 2. Revision
1. Show the pictures of the elephant , then help students to review the website article in 2b.
2. Help students to retell the passage by some key words

How to save them:
3. Play the video to show that elephants are in great danger and we should protect them.
4. Show more videos to warn students that there are many animals in danger , make students understand a saying : when the buying stops, the killing can too.
Step 3.Writing practice
1. Show a picture of a giraffe, talk about the giraffe with students.
2. Give students some description words about the giraffe, ask the students to look at the picture and make sentences with the words given to describe the giraffe.
3. Then finish 3a. This is a short passage about a giraffe, please fill ill in the blanks with the words in the box. Then ask a student to read the passage, the teacher correct the answers.
4. Learn to write
Show the picture of a panda
1) Free talk about the pandas.
Where are they from What do they like to eat ?
What can they do? What color are they ?
2) Group work:
Divide the class into groups of four. Then ask them to finish the group work:
First, make sentences with the following words: Beibei, five years old, China, cute, shy Beijing Zoo
Then write a short passage about Beibei.
The teacher walk around and give the help if necessary.
When they finish the work, ask one student of each group to give a report to share their writing.
3) Show a model essay of panda to the students.
