Teaching Content: Go for it, students’ book of Grade 7, Unit 7.It’s raining Section B (1a-2a)
I. Teaching Aims:
Learn and master new words, phrases and key sentence patterns.
Enable the students to talk in English about How’s it going How’s the weather What are you doing
Develop students’ listening and speaking skills.
II. Teaching Difficult Points:
How to develop students’ ability of making up their everyday conversation by using the key sentence patterns in this unit.
III. Teaching Meathods:
Question-and-answer activities to help students review the key sentence patterns they’ve learnt in Section A.
Listening task to help them get a general idea about what to role play.
Individual and pair work to make every student work in class.

Teaching Procedures Content
Step 1Greeting
Step2Revision and Lead-in Lead in by chanting about weather.Review key sentence patterns in Section A by looking at the pictures and listening to the sound and guessing.Ask some questions:How’s the weather / What’s the weather like What’s he/she doing in the picture
Step3Learning Goals shown 1..Can read and spell the following new words dry; cool; cold; warm; hot; visit; terrible orange juice; sit by the pool; write a letterclimb the mountains2.Can ask and describe the weather by using the key sentence patterns: 1) How’s the weather It’s snowy and cold. 2) What’s she doing She’s drinking orange juice.
Step4 Learn key words and phrases Lead students to read the new words and phrases twice when learning goals are shown.Pictures about new words and phrases are shown for students to guess, and then lead them to read while writing the phonetic symbols on the blackboard.Check their pronunciation by asking them to read the key words and phrases one by one.add four seasons to expand their vocabularies and practice asking and answering about weather.Further study key words and phrases though 1a and 2a in the textbook. And continue practicing the key sentence patterns by asking and answering questions and working in pairs.
Step5 Listening And Role play listen and write answers to the three questions in 1c.Read the conversation from the tape follow the teacher.Read in roles(Boys are Eric while Girls are Mary) to compete.Make up conversations in pairs including four key sentence patterns.Role play it out in class.Other students take notes and answer questions.
Step6 Summary Summarize and review the key sentence patterns
Step 7 Relax Look at pictures hidden partly and guess about the weather.
