本课时节选自人教版初中英语新目标八年级下第一单元的Section B中的阅读部分。本课时的中心话题是“登山”,整篇文章由四段组成。文章中有一副爬山的插图。其中,第一段主要交代主人公的背景信息,如国籍、爱好及此项活动的特征等。在第二段中,作者细致描述“一次事故的前因后果”。作者在第三段中讲述主人公在经历这次“登山事故”后的人生历程:写本励志的书讲述自己的人生经历。最后一段,以提问的方式引发读者思考:在你做重要决定或关乎生死决定之前,你会如何思考?
学情分析:
八年级学生在整个初中学习过程中处于进阶阶段,学生有一定的知识积累和学习方法。大多数学生尤其男生,对体育运动这一话题很感兴趣,登山话题可以调动学生学习兴趣。同时,学生在英语阅读过程中会遇见许多常见问题:整篇文章的脉络无法系统把握,构建思维导图的意向不明显等。

Step 2 while-reading
1、Predicting ------Ask students to read the title of the passage,and look at the picture, they should make a prediction according to the title and the picture.
