Unit 3 Could you please clean your room
Period 1 (1a-1c)教学设计
Teaching aims:
1.Knowledge aims:
1)Master the following words and phrases: rubbish, fold, sweep, floor, mess, take out rubbish, clean the living room, do the dishes, do the laundry , make one’s bed, fold the clothes, sweep the floor, do chores.
2)Master the important sentence patterns as below:
Could you please sweep the floor
Yes, I can. / Sure./ No, I can’t/ Sorry, I have work to do.
2.Ability aims:
1) Students learn to make polite requests and ask for permission.
2) Master to use the word “could”.
3.Emotion aims:
Students should learn to be polite to make a request or ask for permission.
Teaching Key Points & Difficult Points:
1. Master to use the key sentence pattern to ask permission.
2. Master the new words and phrases.
Teaching aids: blackboard, computer, tape, projector
Teaching design:
Step 1 Warming-up
Greetings.
Step 2 Lead in
1. Teacher: First, let’s tell a story in English. Look at the pictures on the screen:
教师展示灰姑娘童话故事图片,每幅图片附带简单故事内容,逐步导入新词汇“chores”美丽善良的灰姑娘因继母的嫉妒,每天得做所有的家务。图片的主题使学生联想到本课的话题。
2. 让学生自主讲述后几张图片内容,让学生都参与进故事中,总结短语“do chores”.
Step 3 Presentation and Listening.
1. Teach the new words. Students listen to the tape and read the new words. Try to remember the meaning of the words.
2. Present pictures of chores at home, talk about what chores students may do at home. Teacher: Do you do these chores at home Discuss with your partner.
学生看图学习动词词组do chores, do the dishes, make the bed, take out the rubbish, fold the clothes, do the laundry, clean the living room.
4. Listening . 1b , Who will do these chores Peter’s mother or Peter
理解目标语Could you please clean your room Yes, sure.
(1 )Read the instructions.
(2)Play the recording the first time. Students only listen.
(3)Play the recording a second time. And fill in the chart. Then check the answers.
5. 1c Pairwork: Make conversation based on 1b.
A: Could you please sweep the floor
B: Yes, sure. Can you do the dishes
A: Could you please…
引出目标语Could you please … Yes, sure./Sorry, I can’t.
提问几组同学做对话,考察学生掌握情况。
6. Teacher: OK. Well done. Today we say the word “could” for many times. Who can tell me what kind of word it is How can we use it
After students give several answers. The teacher summarize:
1) 情态动词的基本用法。
2)情态动词有哪些。
3)重点讲解could 和can 的用法。
8. Teach the passage . Summarize the language points and help students to use them.
Step 4 Practice and Speaking.
1. Work in pairs. Role-play the conversation of 1c.
2. Do some practice on using could or can.
3. Students work in groups to make their own conversation about do chores at home. They may use the sentences as below:
A: What chores do you do at home
B: I do….
A: How often do you do it
B: About once a week.
A: Could you please….
B: Sure…
