Improve ability(能力) of reading and understanding.(阅读和理解)Moral objectives (德育目标): Care for your parents and share the difficulties with them.
教学重点 重点词汇、常用表达及句型。对文章大意的把握。
教学难点 在理解两封信的基础上对文章进行进一步的解读。通过学生阅读查找相关的句子。

一 . Greeting & Lead-in1. Free talk “自由交际” 1) Make conversations like this: —Could you please do sth. —Yes, I can. —Could I do sth. —Sorry, you can’t. 2. Leading-in“导入新课” (1) Talk about whether they should help their parents do chores. (2) Discuss the questions with your partner, and answer the following questions: 1) What do you often do to help your parents at home 2) Do you think kids should help out with chores at home (让学生说出自己的观点,为后面的观点做出铺垫)二. Presentation 呈现1,Skimming(略读) Skim the two letters. Which one agrees and which one disagrees 2. Listen & mark T or F。3. Scanning(扫读) . Read the two letters carefully and find what are the pros and cons about kids doing chores. Pros Cons Doing chores helps to develop children’s independence. Housework is a waste of children’s time. Check up the answers. 4. Loud Reading (朗读) 1) Read the passage by themselves. 2) 使用 “自主探究”部分的内容,体验语法以及语言知识点的使用方法。 【1.】They should spend their time on schoolwork in order to get good grades and get into a good university. in order to: “目的是、为了”,比单纯的to do更强调 “目的”,可放句首,也可放句中为掌握全面情况,还需要详细资料。In order to get a complete picture, further information is needed. 【2.】It’s the parents’ job to provide a clean and comfortable environment at home for their children.*provide: “提供、供应”*固定搭配:provide sb. with sth. / provide sth. for sb. 他们给孩子们良好的衣食供应。 They provided the children with good food and clothing.*It仅为形式上的主语,真正的主语是to provide…for their children*It is one’s job (duty, …) to do something. :“做某事是某人的工作(职责等)”把东西给学生讲明白是每一位老师应做的事情。It’s every teacher’s job to explain things clearly to the students.【3.】 Anyway, I think doing chores is not so difficult.*anyway: 副词,若位于句首,其后往往会有逗号将其与句子的其他内容隔开*anyway在此句中的作用是追加评论, “反正;仍然;依然”我左右闲着没事,就陪你走一趟吧。Anyway I'm free now. Let me go with you.反正得去一个人, 就让我去吧!Since someone has to go anyway, let me go.【4.】The earlier kids learn to be independent, the better it is for their future.“the+比较级”,“the+ 比较级”表示 “越……越……”多多益善。The more, the better. 我们为人民做得越多,就越幸福。 The more we do for the people, the happier we'll be.【5.】…he often fell ill and his grades dropped.ill & sick◆相同点ill 与sick 都可以表示“生病的”,都可作表语。如:Alice was ill / sick yesterday.◆不同点表示“生病”时,sick 可作定语,但ill 通常不作定语。如:Could you help the sick girl 【运用】根据句意,用ill或sick填空。(1) The driver sent the _____ baby to the hospital.(2) My brother is ________. I have to look after him at home.三 . Consolidation (巩固)1.
