一、教材分析
本单元的教学核心项目是“谈论过去的事情”(Talk about past events),要求学生学会讲述过去时间里发生的动作并讲述一个完整的故事。这节课是Section B(2a-2e)的教学内容,是一堂阅读课,课文围绕发生在美国历史上两件大事展开阅读内容。阅读是一个单元语言输入较为集中的环节,阅读中的教学活动主要围绕阅读教材本身的内容展开活动。阅读后的活动旨在让学生通过对课文内容的问答及语言难点的学习等形式进一步加深对文章的理解。同时通过阅读课的学习,促进学生了学生讲故事的兴趣,并激发了学生对伟人的崇敬之情,同时树立正义的思想道德观。
二.教学目标:
1 知识目标:掌握一些新的单词,了解一些词组及句型的用法。
2 能力目标:培养学生的阅读能力以及运用本节课的阅读策略完成阅读任务。并且能用英语叙述过去正在发生的事件,
3 情感目标:通过学习本课,培养学生爱国的思想感情及树立正义的思想道德观。

四、教法渗透:
1、教学设计思路:
本节课结合教材的实际,尽量用英语教学,为学生创造英语氛围,利用网络,创造课件,增加直观性,激发学生兴趣,提高课堂密度。让学生带着阅读任务来学习语言,并扩展自己语言知识,让学生自己能学会运用过去时态讲述故事,让学生在用中学,在学中用(Learning by using, learning for using)。培养学生阅读能力。
2、教学方式和手段:
情景教学法、任务型教学法、多媒体辅助教学等。
3、学习方法指导:
本节课将通过brainstorming这一活动让学生对描述过去的事情感兴趣,然后通过谈论图片对本节课主要内容有初步感应。然后再引导学生进行文章阅读。在任务中阅读并完成阅读任务。提高学生阅读水平。让他们围绕着阅读任务在活动中相互探讨、相互合作从而获得知识、技能和情感体验,发展他们的学习能力。
五、教学过程
Step 1 Warming up
T : There was an earthquake that happened in Wenchuan,Sichuan province on May the 12th of 2008. When it happened, I was taking a shower. Can you remember what you were doing at the time of earthquake

设计意图:通过2008年汶川大地震事件引入新课,让学生复习动词的过去进行时结构及重点单词When的用法。

设计意图:通过看图片回答问题,激发学生阅读动机,激活相关背景知识,引出话题。
