I.Teaching aims:

Language points
1.There we put up our tents and made a fire to keep us warm and cook food on.在那里我们架起帐篷,生活取暖并做饭。(教材第71页)
(1)put up动词短语,此处意为“搭起”,另外还有“举起;张贴;建造”之意。put的过去式还是put。像这样动词过去式与原形相同的词还有:cut―cut; read―read; let―let等。
(2)keep us warm 保持我们暖和,keep +宾语+形容词,表示保持某物某种状态。
e.g.:Please keep the classroom clean.请保持教室干净。
2.But I was so tired that I went to sleep early.我很累以至于很早就睡了。(教材第71页)
so…that意为 “如此 以至于 ”。so是副词,后跟形容词或副词,that引导表示结果的状语从句。so...that...常和too…to(太 而不能)替换。too后跟形容词或副词,to后跟动词原形。
e.g.:She is so angry that she can’t say a word. = She is too angry to say a word. 她如此生气以至于说不出话来。

IV.Teaching process
Before class: do some exercise to review the last period.(do translation)
Step 1: Lead- in
1.Teacher show some pictures about animals. And ask some of the Ss (what animals do you like )(2minutes)
2.Teacher: What kinds of animals are you afraid of Why Can you make a list of some scary animals in your mind (2minutes) Then T show some pictures .
Teacher:Are you afraid of snakes Do you know how to make the snake go away when you meet a snake If you want to know the way,please learn this lesson with me together.
Step 2 Work on 2b 2c
