We need to come up with a plan to tell people about the city park clean-up.

Helping others is good and great, we should try our best to help others.

V. Teaching Procedures:
Step1: Lead-in
Greet the Ss, and then look at some pictures about some volunteers who are helping others, tell Ss that being a volunteer is great.
Step 2:Pairwork
Let students practice in pairs. Then ask some pairs to act out.
Step 3: Guessing game and practice
Have Ss practice the target language by guessing what other people would like to do for consolidation.
When guessing, divide the Ss. into two teams(boys: Team A; girls: Team B) to see which team is more excellent.
Step 4: Presentation ( 1a )
Call Ss’ attention to the bulletin board in 1a and ask them to read about ways by which we could help people. Teach some new words and expressions. Then ask Ss to list other ways they could help people.
Sample answers in 1a:
help old man clean their houses
help young kids learn English
help the old people go across the road
help plant trees
help raise money for the poor people
Step 5: Listening (1b, 2a and 2b)
1. Deal with 1b.
Ask Ss to listen and number the ways the boy and girl could help others.
After playing, check answers. (Key: 3, 2, 4, 1)
2. Deal with 2a and 2b:
T: “In what ways could we tell others something quickly ”
Ask one or two Ss to give their opinions, then call Ss’ attention to the screen.
Help Ss say these ways together.
Then say: “A group of students are planning a City Park Clean-up Day. Let’s listen and check the things they are going to do to tell people about it.”
Play the recording for the first time and check answers. ( Key: b, c, e)
Play the recording again for Ss to fill in the blanks.
Then, teach the phrasal verbs in these sentences.
( Keys: 1. come up with 2. put off 3. put up 4. hand, out 5. call up)
Step 6 : Pair-work (2c)
Ask Ss to work in pairs to practice, allow their minutes, then call some pairs to act out their conversations.
Step 7:Do some exercises.
Let students do first. Then check the answers togethers.
Step 8 : Summary
Sum up what they have leaned in this class.
Step 9: Let’s enjoy
Have Ss enjoy one saying about helping others and ask Ss to try their best to help others from now on.
