Step1. Warming up and Revision
(1) T: what am I doing
Ss: You are calling someone.
T: Yes. I’m talking to my friend on the phone. In this unit, we have learned how to talk to our friends on the phone in Section A, 2d.
(2) Match the sentences on the left with the responses on the right.
Then check the answer in class. Give them some help if necessary.
Answer:
A: Hello! Jenny speaking.
B: Hi, Jenny. It’s Steve here. May I speak to Laura, please
A: Sorry, she’s not at home. Can I take a message
B: Yes. Could you ask her to call me at 8765-4321
A: Sure, no problem.
B: Thank you.Bye.
Step2. Teach new words with the pictures on the screen.

Step3. Practice
1. Show three conversations on the computer. Let the students fill in the blankets. Check the answer in a few minutes.

Step4. Consolidation
(1) Add more words in each box.

(3) Write your own conversation according to the picture on the screen. Try to use the words and phrases above. Ask some students to share their conversations in class.
Give them some help if they need.

Step5. Writing
1. Look at the questions on the screen. Try to answer them according to the pictures. Discuss in groups.
2. Ask some students to answer the questions in class.

Possible answers:
We are in Beijing now.
It’s cloudy and cool today.
I’m talking with some students from the US in English.
My father is taking some photos of the mountains.

3. Imagine you are on vacation in Beijing. Try to write a passage with the answers above. You can add some sentences in the article.
4. Share your article in groups first. Then choose the best one to act out in pare which group is better.
5. Choose the best article and let the writer tells the students how to write a passage.
