一、教学课题: 《What does he look like 》
Section B Period 1(1a-1d)
二、教学设计思路:
1、利用多媒体、图片、简笔画等帮助学生学习有关描述人物外貌的单词。
2、设置情境,帮助学生通过听说练习学会描述人物外貌的句型。
三、教材分析:
(1)、教材内容:
本节课是Go for it七年级下册中UNIT7《What does he look like 》的第三课时。之前的第一、第二课时已经让学生学会了运用所学知识来对人的身高、体重、发型等进行描述。本课核心话题是立足于人的外貌特点,谈论人的外表形象, 细致到面部,衣着等特征。
(2)、教材的地位及作用
本节课的教学内容来源于生活, 立足于生活,它主要是以人的外貌特征为主线,以一种循序渐进、由浅入深的学习程序来展开英语教学,其主要目的是通过激趣来引发学生能运用英语来进行交流,能运用英语来描述自己或他人的外貌特征。
(3)、教学目标:
1、知识目标:
①.单词:blonde, mouth, round, face, eye, singer, artist, crime, criminal, put, each, way, describe, differently, another, end, real
②.句型: -- What does he/she look like
--He/She has a small mouth and big eyes.
--What do you look like
--I wear glasses.
2、语言技能
①. 让学生能积极思维,在生活中灵活运用所学单词,短语及句型。
②. 使学生能概括人物的外貌特征或根据人物特征描述来判断猜出是某一人物。
③. 学艺即用,使学生能利用所学知识与同学们共同探讨,互相交流,从而能替自己和别人进行新形象的设计。
3、情感态度
①.通过对同学、教师或自己偶像友好地外貌描述,让学生在人际交往中能多发现别人的优点,从而学会理解他人、尊重他人、让学生真正懂得心灵美才是最美,千万不要以貌取人。
②. 在完成学习任务的前提下,同学间的积极协作,团结互助,不仅增强了学生的情谊,还能在提高英语的同时共同尽情享受学习的乐趣。
4、文化意识
(1)、加强中西方文化知识的渗透,了解文化背景的不同决定了在同一个事物表达观点上差异的存在——我们比较委婉,而西方人则更直接。
(2)、提高学生赏美能力和审美能力,在掌握外貌描述的知识背景下,实现跨学科的交流。
四、教学重难点及突破方法:
教学重点: 掌握本课新单词和句型及怎样描述一个人的外貌。
突破方法:
(1)、充分利用多媒体,图片、简笔画等进行语言操练和实践,让学生掌握关于描述人外貌特征的词汇和句型。
(2)、通过师生互动和生生互动,掌握句型What does he / she look like 结构的运用。
教学难点:
(1)新词汇的运用,特别是has与is的正确使用,是本节课的一个难点。(2)掌握描述人物外貌的方法。
突破方法:
发挥教师良好的示范作用,注重教师在课堂教学中对学生无意识的影响,通过各种操练,使用交际用语,形成良好的学习氛围,培养学生良好的语言表达习惯。
五、学生分析:
本节课的教学对象是七年级学生,已有一定的英语语言基础,因此为了激发和培养学生学习英语的兴趣,使其树立自信心,在教学中,要充分利用多媒体,课件、卡纸、图片、简笔画等教学资源来进行语言操练和实践,让学生更直观地感受英语,学习英语,运用英语,使其感受到英语的魅力无处不在。在课堂上能有较强的积极性和表现欲望。
六、教学方法和学习策略
1. 教学方法:
(1)情景交际法:本节课的话题源于生活,以充分利用学生已有的知识和经验为契机,创设生活化的真实情境,引导学生在运用中学习语言,在学习后更能创造性地使用语言(为用而学,在用中学,在学后用)。
(2)任务型语言教学法:设计多种由易到难的任务活动,提供给学生合作交流的空间和时间,促使学生间地合作探究,让其享受到成功的喜悦,从而树立其自信。
(3)开放性教学策略:教师要开放性地处理教材,结合教材插入学生感兴趣的图片、简笔画及视频等,丰富学生知识,拓宽他们视野,实现知识的整合。
2.学习策略
(1)自主学习:要求学生采用自主学习的方式,能根据需要进行有目的预习。(如:在课前搜集有关人物外表的词汇如:身高、身材、年龄、头发颜色,长度及发型等词语和长相不同的男女人物照片、图片,使其对教师的教学内容起补充作用。
(2)合作学习:在完成任务的活动中让学生们形成合作学习和探究学习的学习方式,引导学生积极思考,善于抓住英语交流的机会。在活动中相互探讨、相互交流、相互合作,从而获得知识、技能和情感体验,发展他们的能力。
(3)通过绘画、猜明星、等一系列活动设计,激发学生的学习热情,培养他们的观察能力、审美能力、概括能力和推理能力,使他们自己的主观能动性得到充分的体现,把被动的学习变为主动学习。
(4)把网络学习资源、课内资源和学生所查找的课外资源有机的结合起来,运用所学内容进行真实的情景交际,巩固并提高课堂效力。
七. 教学设计:
Step I Warming-up and revision
Play the game: Let’s take the English train .
Show some photos of the classmates. Describe about their height / build / hairstyles . Let students use the following words: short /long/ no hair ; tall / short / medium height ; fat ( heavy)/ thin / medium build.
T: Let’s take the English train.
S: Let’s go!
T: What does Qian Xiyu look like
S1: He is of medium height and of medium build. He has short curly black hair. He wears glasses. What does Zhang Zhaolin look like
Sang Ashun.
S2: He is a little heavy……
In this game, students can pricetice the dialogue one by one.
(设计意图:教师利用学生的照片可以活跃气氛,建立平等的学习关系,提高学习英语的英趣,建立一个良好的学习氛围。使学生更热爱自己的班级和同学,为后面描述人物外貌特征的学习做好过渡和铺垫。)
Step II Presentation:
1、Show some pictures on the screen, the pictures are about some famous people. They look really different. Students can talk about their different looks: big eyes, small mouth, blonde hair…
Look at her eyes.What does she look like
She has big eyes. .
(设计意图: 通过对明星们不同外貌的描述,使学生了解到各行各业的名人也有着不同的外貌和特点,都有值得我们尊敬和喜欢的地方,以此培养学生的情感和态度:不要以貌取人(Don’t judge by appearance)
2、 Match the descripion words in the picture. (1a)
学习课本的第一部分P52,1a先看图片,然后搭配图片和相关的外貌特征的词。
Now please look at P52, Use the letters to match the people in the picture with one of the numbered words. Write each letter next to a numbered word. You can use some letters more than once. Point out the sample answer. (Keys:1 b d. 2 a . 3 c. 4 b. 5 c. 6 a. 7 b c .8 a b )
3.Read the phrases in the box in 1b and make sentences about famous people with the words.
e.g. Jackie Chan has black hair.
2. Fill in the blanks and check each other. Ask and answer with the teacher.
(设计意图:让学生通过大量的练习后自主发现is 和has 的使用区别来突破本单元难点,最后终结陈述他们的用法。)
Step III Pairwork:
Show some pictures on the screen, ask Ss talk about the pictures in pairs. The people in the pictures are from different jobs. And they look different.
Teacher: Boys and girls. Now, talk about the famous person with your partner. I’ll give you 2 minutes. Then you can act out in front of the classroom.
Eg: S1:What does Avril look like
S2:She is thin and she is of medium height. She has long curly blonde hair. She is beautiful.
Then ask students to act out in pairs in front of the classroom.
(在这一过程中, 几乎每个同学都有口头训练的机会,而且大家在小组中也不必担心出洋相。大家抓紧机会练习,互相请教,边学边用,边用边学,气氛非常融洽。)
Step Ⅳ Presenting a rock band.
T: Boys and girls ,do you know Avril is very cool. She sang a lot of rock songs. Now I’ll introduce another rock band to you.Look
Show a picture on the screen, it’s a picture of Queen. Talk about the band with the students.
T:Do you know there is a rock band in our class. Look they’re coming.
Three student wear different colors of hair. And I’ll ask two small reporters interview about them. Then ask students talk about the rockers.
在这个环节中,学生利用角色扮演,每个学生都会觉得新奇和感兴趣,在这种互动,双动的教学中,课堂气氛达到了高潮,师生间及生生间的感情得到进一步加深。)
StepⅤ: Listening
Work on 1c:
You will hear Maria and Danny talking about Tina Brown and Johnny Dean.
1. Your job is to write the job each person does. Point to the heading "Job" on the chart. Listen again and check the answers.
2. This time your job is to write what each person looks like. Point to the heading "looks like".
Check the answers.

Step Ⅵ : Play a guessing game:
Ask Ss write their favorite famous people on the paper and read it aloud to the classmates, the others will guess who she / he is
.Eg:S1: My favorite famous people is an actress. She is of medium height .She is a little heavy. She has short straight black hair. She has a round face. She’s really funny. She always make me happy.
S2:Is she Jia Ling
S1: Yes ,she is.
(设计意图:本环节是一个知识的延伸,使整节课的知识点由字、词、句过渡到篇,使用范围整个教学程序由浅入深,循序渐进。)
Step Ⅶ . Moral education :
Everyone is special ; Everyone is useful ; Everyone is important ; Don’t judge the others by appearance !
