五、Teaching procedure
Step1. Greeting
T: Good morning!
How’s the weather today
How’s it going with you today
Step2. Reviewing and leading
Description and guessing
1. Give an example about describing one of the students in the class and ask students to answer. While writing main structure and key words on the left blackboard.
2. After two example, invite two students to describe some students in the class and ask others to guess.
Step3. Look at 1a to lead students to learn more ways to describe a person.
Invite students to match the description words with the picture.
Step4. Look at some pictures of famous people and describe them with the description words in 1a.(5 picture)
Finish the first picture by all students.
Finish next four pictures by four students who come from different teams.
Step5. Finish 1b
After describing five pictures, choose some famous people to fill in the blanks.
Step6. Listen and finish 1c and 1d
After practicing, listen and write Johnny Dean’s and Tina Brown’s jobs and what they look like in the chart.
1. Listen first time, grasp key words about their jobs.
2. Listen again, write down key words about what they look like.
Step7. Talking
Describe what your favorite singer or athletic looks like.
Teacher give an example first. And then invite some students to talk about their favorite singers or athletics.
Step8. Learn some new words and complete the chart with words of the opposite meaning in 2a.
Students do it first and then check the answers together.
Step9. Read the article and find out who is the real criminal.
1. Let the students guess who is the real criminal just by the picture first.
2. Next, scan the article to find out the sentences which is describing what the real criminal looks like.
3. Analyze the article sentence by sentence with some main structures and key points.
4. Let the students finish 2c and then check their answer.
Step10. Summary
Let the student look at the blackboard and summary this class with them.
