一.Preparation
Step 1: Warm up
1. Play a song before class.

Step 2: Lead in
Show some pictures, teacher says:My last weekend was very terrible. I cleaned the room, watered the flowers, washed some clothes and cooked for my family. I was so tired. What about your weekend?What did you do last weekend
Step 3: New vocabulary
Show them pictures of activities and teach them these new phrases, like went to the beach, camped by the lake…Ask students to read them.
三.Practice
Step 4: Listening1
From Picture c, we know the girl played tennis on Saturday morning. When did the girl do other things Let’s listen to the tape to get the time. Play the tape for students to listen and finish 1b.
Later check the answers. Then tell the students the importance of time order when we talk about or write something.
Step 5: Pair work
Do 1c. Work with a partner. Student A pretends to be Lucy. Student B, ask questions about what Lucy did on different days and time last weekend. Talk about the activities in the picture.
As they talk, move around the room and check their progress.
Finally, invite some pairs to act out for the whole class.
Step 6: Practice
Show some pictures about weekend activities. Ask students: Did he/she/they go shopping …
Learn new phrases and make students know the general questions of the past tense.
Step 7: A guessing game
Show some pictures which are covered, let students guess weekend activities.
Step 8: Watch a video
(1)T: Now, you will watch a video. Some people will talk about the activities they did. Please fill in the blanks. At last, ask some students to say their answers with complete sentences.

Let students sum up some adjectives which can describe weekend.
