My school appeared on the news last week because we had made an important change in our local area. Our class had planted a large garden in what was once only a wasteland. It was a lot of work. I got blisters(水泡) from digging, and we all got insect bites, too. But it was all worth it.
I learned a lot about gardening and teamwork, and then I learned about the media. Our teacher telephoned the TV station and informed it of what we had done. She spoke with the producer. The producer checked with the directors, but they said there were plenty of stories similar to ours. They wanted to know what was special about our garden, because many schools planted gardens.
The teacher explained that, after going on the Internet to learn about the prairie(北美草原), we had made a prairie garden. We had been to a prairie and gotten seeds from the plants, and then we planted them. We did not water the garden, but we did weed it. We decided to let nature water it with rain, because that was how prairies grew in the past. We sent a picture of the garden to the news station. In the picture, the grass was so high that it stood taller than the fourth grade students.
As a result, the producer sent a reporter to our school. He interviewed the headmaster and asked him many questions about the garden. After that, he interviewed us, and we explained to him what we had learned through this project.
That night, we watched the news, and there we were. The news reporter told our story. It was only two minutes long, but it was us. We were famous. All that work and all those blisters were worth it. We knew that when we saw the garden every day, but now we knew that the whole city thought so, too.

"The sun isn’t even out. You get up, button your uniform, tie your boot laces, and kiss your family goodbye. You close your eyes and take a moment to make peace with the reality that you may never see them again." This is the daily routine of a ranger(护林员).
Globally, about 150 rangers die each year protecting parks and wildlife, according to the Thin Green Line Foundation. In recent years, the number of rangers lost is likely to increase as the COVID-19 pandemic has a bad effect.
On July 31, World Ranger Day, the Global Wildlife Program(GWP), funded by the Global Environment Facility(GEF), would like to honor the bravery and determination of all rangers by sharing their stories.
Patience Tsitsi Shumbayaonda has been a ranger with Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority(ZimParks) for several years. She and her colleagues patrol(巡逻) in areas to strengthen biodiversity and ecosystems management in the Mid- and Lower Zambezi Valley in Zimbabwe.
"Being a ranger is physically demanding," with a typical day involving patrolling protected areas, watching and checking for illegal activities, tracking poachers(偷猎者), fire management, looking for animals in trouble, and helping communities address human-wildlife conflict.
"Our job is not only to protect the animals from the people, but also the people from animals," she said, "We do come face to face with dangerous animals but if we keep our distance from them, they will go away. I think somehow, they feel our positive energy and do not attack us."
"It’s not our duty only as rangers to look after wildlife, but it is everyone’s task — as communities, as nations, and globally. I hope that the illegal trade of endangered animals is stopped and that people value wildlife as we rangers do, such that we live in harmony with nature."

"Your mind is a garden; your thoughts are the seeds. The harvest can either be flowers or weeds," wrote William Wordsworth, who suggested that the process of gardening mirrors human life. Depending on what we "plant" in our lives, we bloom(茁壮成长) or don’t.
Before you start to work in your garden, it is necessary to have an idea for it. Thinking of what you want to grow in your garden and how to arrange it is a good first step in making your idea a fruitful reality. In life, you should consider what you want to create and what you want to achieve, because your mind garden is like a piece of white paper and the possibilities are endless.
No matter what plants you choose, poor soil isn’t suitable for growth. This is why gardeners take the time and energy to improve the soil before planting. So, creating right soil is important to the realization of your goals and dreams. Luckily, there are countless ways to make your personal bedrock(基石) better. Getting an education is one of the most effective ways, which can help you enrich your life’s soil.
You don’t have to be an expert gardener to understand the meaning of "You harvest what you sow(种瓜得瓜,种豆得豆)". When a gardener wants tomatoes, they just need to plant tomato seeds. It is a very clear act that produces an expected result. Each of us has the power to decide which "life seeds" to plant. For example, if you plant ill seeds, it’s likely that you’ll experience pain in return; however, if you plant seeds of kindness and understanding, your life will bloom with happiness and love.
A gardener’s truly hard work begins after the seeds are in the ground because a garden requires a lot of care and attention. Regular watering and weeding are required for a healthy garden. So, to ensure your dreams take root, you should be devoted, aware, and present. After countless hours and energy spent, the crops will grow well and be finally ready to be harvested.

A. To sing the praises of gardening.
B. To stress the importance of results.

33.What is important before gardeners start to work in their gardens
A. Receiving some training in planting.
B. Drawing up a good plan for their gardens.
C. Having the courage to accept the worst result.
D. Doing research on the common local garden plants.
34.What does the author want to express in paragraph 4
A. Your quality of life depends on your action.
B. Your experience can help you understand plants better.
C. Your knowledge of planting will make you a successful gardener.
D. Your choice of soil is the most important part in your gardening.
35.Where can you read this article

When was the last time you sent someone a letter by regular mail Thanks to the Internet, many people prefer to send e-mails rather than mail letters using the postal system. Young people entering the working world today find themselves sending and replying to hundreds of business related e-mails every week. However, many of these same young people don’t seem to know some basic rules when it comes to sending e-mails at work. Most of the people said they didn’t check their spelling or punctuation (标点) before hitting "send". Even more surprising was that 5% of them said they sometimes end e-mails to their bosses with the words "love and kisses"! While this is fine for personal messages to friends and loved ones, it is normally considered improper in the workplace.
The main reason for this use of informal language in work e-mails is that a lot of young people have always communicated with others on the Internet — especially using e-mails — in a relaxed and friendly manner. For many people, online communication outside of work, such as talking with others in chat rooms, posting information on message boards, and sending e-mails to friends, is usually for fun. Another reason is that young people now are unfamiliar with how to write formal letters, because they have never had to write a formal letter before. They have had no training in how to write a basic business letter, and are unaware of the style and language that should, and should not, be used.
With more business letters now being conducted using the Internet than ever before, it is important for people to realize the differences in language use between personal and business communication — especially when they’re using e-mails. So next time you send an e-mail at the office, remember you’re not just online, you’re at work.

故填was set。
64 to use water without wasting it"作介词in的宾语,结合语境可知,此处表示"如何",故填how。
分析句子结构可知,空处与sharing并列,作such as的宾语,故填using。

Work e-mails are used widely among young people, but many of them don’t pay attention to some simple rules of writing e-mails at work. That’s mainly because they’re used to communicating casually online. A lack of knowledge of formal letter writing can also cause their failure. With e-mails widely used in the workplace, people should learn to write formally in business e-mails.
