April 22nd is World Earth Day- -a day to remind people to protect the earth. So on that day, our family held an activity “bottle of trash challenge". That means the trash needs to be put in a 600ml bottle. We decided to challenge ourselves and produce as little trash as possible.
My father worked online all day, so he didn't produce any paper waste except paper napkins. He made the least trash in our family.
My mother cooked and produced plenty of kitchen waste, such as vegetable leaves, eggshells and food bags. What's worse, we couldn't eat up all the food of the dinner that day. So leftovers couldn't be avoided. It was not easy for mom to deal with all the trash, but she found a way to put it all into the bottle. How amazing!
My sister, a 16-year-old student, was busy preparing for her exams. She had to use paper to work out math or physics problems. She used only one side of the paper in the past. But that day, she tried to use both sides of the paper because she realized we were challenging ourselves. She did a good job!
I was different from my sister. I love snacks and drinks. So my trash was almost from them. I was highly alert( 警觉的) that I must produce less waste. I hardly ever had snacks or drinks. It was too difficult, but I did it!
I've learnt a lot from this activity. I realize that everyone can produce less trash. We should start with small actions to protect the earth!

Lots of kids have been trying to find ways to help save the Earth. Some of them are encouraged by the “30 by 30” plan: Fifty countries have promised to protect 30% of Earth’s land and waters by 2030.
One of the kids is 11-year-old Beckett from Georgetown, Texas. He wants to help protect endangered species (物种). In 2019, he began working with Rainforest Trust. “I was really interested in trying to stop climate (气候) change,” he said.
With the help of his schoolmates, Beckett has started a group called Protection of Earth. The group organized a local Run and raised more than $700. The money helped to save more than 1,000 acres (英亩) of rainforest land. When the COVID-19 came, Beckett put together an online activity called Trivia: People could test their knowledge of birds, endangered species, and climate change. That raised $600 for rainforest land.
In Los Angeles, California, 10-year-old Justin is worried about frogs. Justin calls them “magical, because they come in different colors.” Last year he joined Rainforest Trust to help Ecuador’s rainforest and its frogs. He appeared on local TV news, and many people learned about what he had done. That helped him raise $2,000 to save almost three acres of Cloud Forest.

Among these, plant-based(基于植物的)foods included fruits, vegetables, nuts and potatoes. It also studied animal-based foods, including red meat, chicken, milk products, eggs and fish.

第二部分 写作——范文
Hello, everyone! I’d like to tell you something about the show “Working the Waste into Magic”.
A number of creative works were on show, including clothes made from waste paper and model planes made of used wood and glass. Another fascinating work is a chair that is made of plastic bottles. They are glued together and painted in different colors.
I was most interested in a backpack for computers. It is made out of a pair of old jeans! With the zipper of jeans on the top, two pockets on two sides, the backpack looks both useful and fashionable. It even has a logo!
I felt amazed at how waste could be put to such good use. It really helps to save energy and build a greener future.
