Hello! We’re in 2042 now. Let’s share our beautiful life together!
I had a serious illness at the age of 7. From then on, I expected to be a doctor. Now I work in a hospital as a doctor. There are modern medical instruments and services. I can treat patients even when they’re far away from me. This is because the Internet is faster now.
Through years of studying hard, I'm teaching Chinese in a middle school. Some of my students come from other countries. Since they like Chinese history and culture, they carefully listen to me explain Chinese poems and novels. They spread Chinese history and culture around the world.
China is much greener now because it has worked on protecting the environment. New energy is used without polluting Earth. I'm doing something common for our city. I keep our streets clean and tidy every day to make people live comfortably. I take pride in my job. Any job is a good job.
When I was young, I dreamed of being an astronaut(宇航员)and flying into the space. Nowadays, my dream has come true. Traveling to the moon has got popular. People between the ages of 18 to 60 are able to travel to the moon. I'm going to travel to the Mars(火星)soon. I’m so excited!

It is often said, “You can't live only on air.” But now the Chinese scientists can tell you: Maybe you can.
Recently, some Chinese scientists have developed a new technique (技术). They turned CO2, one of the main greenhouse gases, into starch (淀粉).
Starch is the main part of flour (面粉), rice and com that we eat every day. Usually, it's created by plants with CO2, water and sunlight. According to the team's director Ma Yanhe, it takes the plants nearly 60 steps to produce starch. But now, the team, after six years of hard work, has found a simpler way to do this, with only 11 steps.
“Our study shows that creating something like starch is possible in a lab, and this technology may be helpful in many areas.” said Ma.
The scientists first turned CO2 and hydrogen (氢气) into methanol (甲醇). Then they pieced (分解) these methanol molecules (分子) into bigger and more complex (复杂的) molecules. Finally the starch was produced.
This method makes it possible to produce food in factories, replacing traditional farming. This will not only help make plenty of food, but also save water and land. It may also help recycle CO2 to deal with climate (气候) change, according to China Daily.
The study can be helpful in space, too. Astronauts may no longer need to worry about their food as they travel in space. They may simply turn the CO they breathe out into the food they eat!
26. With a new technique, the Chinese scientists could turn ________ into starch.
A. CO2 B. air C. water D. sunlight
27. Plants can create _________ with CO2, water and sunlight.
A. methanol B. hydrogen C. starch D. greenhouse gas

29. According to the passage, which of the following is wrong

A. guidebook B. magazine C. poem D. novel

Life in Outer Space
Chinese taikonauts Zhai Zhigang, Wang Yaping and Ye Guangfu carried out the Shenzhou-13 spaceflight mission (任务) that started on Oct. 15, 2021. This mission lasts 6 months, which was also a national record. Zhai is the commander (指令长) who performed China’s first spacewalk in the Shenzhou-7 mission in 2008. Wang, who was in the Shenzhou-10 mission in 2013, is the first Chinese woman astronaut to visit China’s space station. Ye is a new comer to space.
The trio had carried out two spacewalks and completed more than 20 scientific tasks. Besides their tasks, they had also given two live lectures from the space station, showing the students their living and working areas at the Tianhe core module and several scientific experiments under zero-gravity conditions and answering real-time questions from students.
The trio also became the first Chinese to spend the nation’s most important festival — the Chinese Lunar New Year — in outer space.
They returned to Earth on April 16, 2022 and made Shenzhou-13 mission a great success.

On Dec.9,three Chinese astronauts gave a science lecture 400 kilometers above Earth!Zhai Zhigang,Wang Yaping and Ye Guangfu who are working aboard the Tiangong space station, showed our students a glimpse of their life there. They also did some fun science experiments.Let's take a look at some of them.
Use it or lose it
The human body grows with the pull of Earth's gravity (重力).But in space, our bones and muscles (肌肉) don't need to support our body's weight. This will cause bone and muscle loss. It's reported that astronauts can lose up to 20% of their muscles after just a couple of weeks. That is dangerous for astronauts because they will be too weak to work.
Astronauts have different ways to prevent this.During the lecture,Zhai introduced a special uniform Ye was wearing. It's called a "penguin suit". There are many elastic bands(弹力带)inside the suit.Wearing it,astronauts use their muscles to stretch(拉伸) the bands. This keeps their muscles strong. Wang also showed students how she walked on a treadmill (跑步机) and rode a bicycle. Astronauts exercise with these tools every day to prevent muscle loss.
Space water is different
Water in space acts differently from water on Earth in other ways. For example, water will not flow(流动) downward if you try to pour it into a cup. That's why astronauts usually drink water through straws(吸管)in sealed(密封的)bags. If astronauts cry,the tears will stay on their eyeballs instead of falling down. They have to wipe(擦拭)them away!
During another experiment,Wang made a water film (膜). Then she added more water drops onto the film to make it a water ball. This can never happen on Earth.
36.The astronauts gave a lecture 400 kilometers above Earth on Dec.9.
A.science B.Chinese C.history D.geography
37.The astronauts might become weak in the space because .
A.their bodies will stop growing B.they have to work for long hours
C.they might lose some of their muscles D.their muscles have to support more weight

39.Which is NOT TRUE about water in space
A.If astronauts cry,the tears will stay on their eyeballs.
B.If astronauts pour the water into a cup,it will flow downward.
C.If astronauts add more water drops onto the film,it will become a water ball.
D.The astronauts usually drink water through straws in sealed bags.
40.The word " " can best describe the lecture in space.
A.Boring B.Careless C.Dangerous D.Eye-opening

Plastic brings us convenience, and pollution as well. 51 It’s in our food and drinks, in the clothes we wear and even in the air we breathe.
Some very tiny pieces of plastic are called microplastics (微塑料). The largest microplastics can be directly seen. 52 What should we do then
53 Any time plastic boxes are heated, microplastics can get into your food. If you can’t avoid using plastic boxes, try not to heat food in them. Use a glass or metal cup instead of a plastic one. Researchers have found that bottled water has more microplastics than tap water. 54 So if you like drinking coffee, hot milk or other hot drinks, remember to use a glass or metal cup.
Since plastic is everywhere, researchers suggest that we should be careful with possible microplastics in life. They may be from baby toys, pens, and even phones we use every day. 55
A. What’s worse, it’s everywhere.
B. Avoid heating food in plastic boxes.
C. We should drink more bottled water.
D. Use plastic products widely in our daily life.
E. All in all, we should use plastic products properly.
F. But many of them are small enough to be around us without being seen.
G. Also, the heat of your drinks will encourage microplastics to get into your drinks.

第二部分 写作——范文
Dear editor,
I was shocked to see some uncivilized behaviors when I took a trip to a village last weekend. Some visitors threw rubbish everywhere and left plastic bags flying around. Some picked flowers without permission to take photos so that they could show off online. And some climbed trees for fun, which might result in serious accidents.
I think it wrong to enjoy oneself at the cost of others. Visitors are supposed to protect the environment, like putting rubbish into proper bins. And they should be careful not to cause trouble to the locals and keep away from danger. In this way, a greener, cleaner and more civilized new village will be there for us all to enjoy.
Yours sincerely
Liu Jun
