一、教学目标:
1. 语言知识目标:
1) 能掌握以下单词:post, office, post office, police, police station, hotel, restaurant, bank, hospital, street, pay, near, across, across from, front, in front of, behind, town, around
能掌握以下句型:
1. ①—Is there a hospital near here
—Yes, there is.

2) 能了解以下语法:
——Where 引导的特殊疑问句及其答语。
——学会There is / are…。Is/are there..的句型及用法。

①Where 引导的特殊疑问句。
②there be 句型的肯定式、一般疑问句及其回答方式。

三、教学过程
Step1. Warming up & revision:
1. 通过欣赏一首英文歌这个热身活动,调动学生学习英语的积极性,激发他们的兴趣,并复习以前学习过的方位介词on, in与under。
T: Hello, everyone! Let’s enjoy an English song to relax and pay attention to the prepositions for position we’ve learnt.
Ss: in, on,under.
2. 以实物(a pen, a box and a pingpong bat)复习on,in与under的用法。
Step2.Present the new words
通过图片来呈现新单词。教师利用多媒体向学生呈现一组本课时要学习的地点名词,然后让学生看图并说出它们是什么地方。
T: Look at these pictures and tell me what places they are.
Ss: It’s a hospital.
T: Read after me, H-O-S-P-I-T-A-L, hospital.
Ss: H-O-S-P-I-T-A-L, hospital.
教师以同样的方式教授其他新词汇post office, police station, hotel, restaurant, bank, hospital, street, pay phone等。At first, ask a few students to try to read them, then the teacher corrects their pronunciations.
Step3. Practice the new words[1a,1b]
1. 1a 完成1a部分的任务,进一步掌握新单词。
T: Match the activities with the pictures [a-f]. Please do it as soon as possible.
After finishing, check the answers.
T: Have you finished
Ss: Yes.
T: Who can tell me your answers

2. 1b 让学生听1b 部分的录音。(两遍)
T: Now let’s listen to the tape, and circle the places you hear in 1a.
(听力指导:做好听力题的两个关键:一是听前看图片或者文字材料;二是听时抓住关键词。)

Step4. Present and practice the new structure [1c]
1. 教师通过课本1a部分的图片来呈现新语言项目“Is there a… ”
For example:
T: Look at the picture. There are many places in it. Is there a hospital near the restaurant
S1: Yes, there is.
T: Is there a library on Center Street
S1: No, there isn’t.
2. 1c 教师让学生根据1a中的图片内容,两人一组利用there be 结构进行对话练习,然后逐一展示。
Step5. Present the new prepositions
1. Lead-in
Sing an English song and find out the new prepositions in the song.
2. After singing, ask students to say out the new prepositions in the song and write them down on the blackboard. (in front of, behind, next to, near, between…and, across from)
3. 通过图片中ball与box的位置关系来呈现新介词。
T: Where’s the ball
Ss:It’s in front of the box.
Step6. Practice the new prepositions
1. Game
通过人体模特,对新介词活学活用。叫班里的两个或者三个学生,其他学生用英文表达被叫学生的位置关系。
2. 通过图片中pay phone与library的位置关系,继续练习介词的使用。
Two groups ask, others answer.
G1,2: Where’s the pay phone
G3,4: It’s behind the library.

3. 2a 教师通过让学生完成2a部分的排序任务来操练本课时的新介词。
Turn to P44 to do 2a. Match the sentences with the pictures. Write the correct number in the box. Please do it as quickly as possible.
4. 2b Listening
通过2b部分的听力填空来让学生进一步巩固所学的方位介词。教师先让学生边听边填上2b部分的空格。如果时间允许,可以找学生读出这六个句子并翻译。
T: Look at 2b. listen to the tape and fill in the blanks with the words in the box.(The teacher plays the tape twice, and then checks the answers.)

Ask and answer questions about the places in 1a on P43 by two or three students. Then, ask them to present .

通过一个Flash小游戏,让学生练习用介词表示各个地点的位置关系。

教师设计练习题,让学生进一步巩固本课时所学的新语言项目。
