Let's discuss:Some people believe the worst thing is to do nothing.
Because time is the best pill, it can make many troubles disappear and make us forget our bad experience.
Because problems and worries are normal, we can't run away from them, we must learn how to solve them.
Laura once lost her wallet, and worried for days. She was afraid to tell her parents about it. She even walked three miles to school each day because she didn't have any money. She just kept thinking, “If I tell my parents, they'll be angry!” In the end, she talked to her parents and they were really understanding. Her dad said he sometimes made careless mistakes himself. They got her a new wallet and asked her to be more careful. “ I will always remember toe share my problems in the future!” Laura says.

Retell the Laura’s story.
Robert Hunt advises students about common problems. He feels the same way as Laura. “It is best not to run away from our problems. We should always try to solve them.” He thinks the first step is to find someone you trust to talk to. The person doesn't need to be an expert like himself. Students often forget that their parents have more experience, and are always there to help them. In English, we say that sharing a problem is like cutting it in half. So you're half way to solving a problem just by talking to someone about it!
Read the para. THREE, answer the questions.
Mr Robert disagree with Laura.
2.It is best to solve our problems instead of running away from them.
3. The person you trust must be an expert.
4.If we talk to someone about our problems, we are half way to solving them.

Read Para. 3 and decide whether the statements are true(T) or false(F).
According to Para 3, Robert Hunt
might be ______.
A. Laura’s teacher
B. the writer of the passage
C. a person with a problem
D. an expert on students’ problems
How do you know
“This person doesn’t need to be an expert like himself.”
Answer the question

expert
According to Mr.Hunt's view, if we want to solve problems, the fist step is to find someone you trust to talk to.
If we have problems, we don't want to tell our parents at first because we don't trust them, do we
keep them
oneself
generation gap
Teenagers trust their parents, but sometimes they feel parents couldn't understand what they did and said. Also they should be asked to follow parents requirements. They are
getting tired of them.
Communication is a good way to share ideas. If we
do, we'll solve a
problem easily and
happily.
What can we learn from this passage
Problems and worries are normal in life.
Unless we talk to someone, we'll certainly feel worse.
We can’t run away from our problems, we should try to solve them.
Sharing a problem is like cutting it in half. So you're halfway to solving a problem just by talking to someone about it!

1.They should get advice from an expert.
应该说 a piece of advice或 a word of advice.例如:
Let me give you a friendly word of advice.
Don't wear jeans to the interview.
That's really a good piece of advice.
advise(v) “提建议;给忠告”
(1) advise sb about sth
Robert Hunt advises students about common problems.
(2)advise sb to do sth
Dentists advise their patients to brush teeth regulary.
1.They should get advice from an expert.
2.If people have problems, they should keep
them to themselves.
在本文语境下,keep them to themselves
Will you keep the keys for me while I'm away
You can keep it if you like.
3. She just kept thinking, “If I tell my parents,...”
在此句中,keep表示“(使......) 保持(某种状态或关系);
It kept raining for a week.
Just keep singing, and don't stop.
4. They got her a new wallet and asked her to
be more careful.
Could you get me a ticket, please
I usually get vegetables from that supermarket.
I got this T-shirt for 50 yuan when it was on sale.
5.In English, we say that sharing a problem
is like cutting it in half.
1) be halfway to...
We'll sitll of only halfway to finishing the job.
5.In English, we say that sharing a problem is
like cutting it in half.
We can practice and learn English by singing English songs.
A:How do you study for a test
B:Well, most of the time by going over the notes and
reading the textbook.
