一、教学内容简析
本单元的话题Talk about rules(谈论规则)与日常生活密切相关。作为一名中学生,遵守校纪、班规、家规和社会公共场所的规章制度是必须的。在谈论规则时,一般运用祈使句、情态动词can和have to等,这是英语新课程标准中规定所必须掌握的内容,是交际英语中必不可少的项目。在本单元Section A中学生们已经学习了此部分内容,本节课是Section B部分,除继续学习运用祈使句、情态动词can、must和have to句型结构外,词汇的滚动复现及学习是重点,写求助信是难点。这节课是一节阅读教学课,有一定的难度。

Step1. Warming-up and revision(课堂热身和复习)
1. Play a word game to check the words.
2. Make sentences using can、must、have to or imperative sentences.
【教学设计说明】本环节让尽可能多的学生进行操练。本环节操练的方式是锁链式操练,以小组竞赛接龙的方式一方面帮助学生复习单词和语法,另一方面为下个环节的阅读文章做了课前热身和铺垫,通过谈论规则这个话题重现词汇和语法,自然过渡到阅读文章。
Step 2. Reading(2b)
Pre-reading:
1.Look at Bob’s family rules.
2.Discuss the following questions:
(1)Do you have some family rules
(2)When you are unhappy about them, who do you like to talk to
(3)What will you do if you are unhappy about something
while-reading:
1.Task 1(Fast reading):Read the letter from Molly and answer the following questions.
(1) Are there many rules in Molly’s home
(2) How does Molly feel about the rules
2. Task 2(Careful reading):
(1)Read the letter from Molly again and students Underline the rules for Molly.
(2)Read the letter from Dr. Know. Underline the things Molly can do. And underline Dr. Know’s advice.
(3)Explain the key words and key sentences.

Task 3(Careful reading):Work on 2c. Read the letters again and complete the sentences with have to/must, can or can’t.
