A few months ago, I was new here, you know. At that time, I was really upset and lonely. What’s more, I couldn’t sleep as well as usual. I was not used to anything here. I thought the roads here were not so clean as those in our hometown. The food was not as delicious as ours, either. It also seemed that the people here were not so friendly as you. But now, everything has changed. With the help of my teachers and classmates, I’m getting used to the life here. I’m not afraid to talk with others now. My classmates all accept me. I live as happily as before.

1.How time flies!光阴似箭！是How quickly time flies!的简略的形式。
How+陈述句！表示感叹。
how在此做状语，修饰谓语动词。
如：How I like my work!我多么喜欢我的工作啊！
2.What’s more, I couldn’t sleep as well as usual.
而且，我不能像平常那样睡好觉。
(1) what’s more“而且，此外”，是插入语，是一种独立成分，可放在分句或句子之首、之尾或之中。
(2) not as+adj.或adv.原级+as+比较对象“表示某人或某物在某方面不如另一个人或另一物”。
表示两者在某方面程度相同时用“as+adj.或adv.原级+as+比较对象”
(3) as usual “像平常一样”。用作状语。
3. I was not used to anything here. 我不习惯这儿的一切。
get/be used to ding sth.意为“习惯于做某事……”。
如：I am used to getting up early.我习惯于早起。
used to do sth.意为“过去常常做某事（现在不做了）”
如：I used to swim in winter.以前我习惯于冬天游泳。

同级比较结构“和……一样”, 否定式表示“不如”

4. The food was not as delicious as ours, either.食物也没有我们的美味可口。
(1)either adv. “也”, 只能放在否定句的句尾。
(2)too “也”，只能用于肯定句，通常放在句末。
(3)also “也”，用在句中。
5. I’m not afraid to talk with others now. 现在我不害怕和他人谈话了。
be afraid to do sth.意为“害怕做某事”，可与be agraid of doing sth互换。
The little boy is afraid to speak in public.=The little boy is afraid of speaking in public.
