2. I regret that I can not come. 很遗憾我不能去。
regret 作动词，意为“感到遗憾、惋惜、懊悔”，后接名词、代词、动名词、不定式或从句。
regret+从句 “感到遗憾惋惜”
e.g. I deeply regret what I said. 我非常后悔说了那些话。
regret to do sth. 对将要做的事遗憾（未做）
e.g. I regret to say that you have failed your exam. 我很遗憾地告诉你，你考试不及格。
regret doing sth. 对做过的事遗憾、后悔（已做）
e.g. I regret telling him the truth. 我后悔告诉了他真相。
3. He knew children should go to school instead of working in factories all day. 他知道儿童应该上课，而不是整日在工厂干活。
instead of sb . / (doing) sth. “代替，作为……的替换”
e.g. Now we can walk to work instead of going by car. 现在我们可以去步行去上班，而不必开车。
4. He decided to fight against the bosses. 他决定与老板作斗争。
fight against sb./sth. “与某人/某事做斗争，反对某人/某事”
e.g. The farmers are fighting against the drought. 农民们正在抗旱。
fight for “为……斗争”，表示目的或原因。
5. As a result, a bad man killed him. 结果，一个坏人杀害了他。
as a result “结果”，在此句中作状语。
as a (the) result of... “由于……而导致的结果”
6. I was so angry that I decided to help them. 我太生气，以至于决定帮助他们。
so...that “如此……以致于”

so that “为了，以便于”
