take + the/a + 交通工具 + to + 地点
= get/go to + 地点+ by + 交通工具
When “home”, “here”,” there” as the place , omit “to”。
Eg : Linda takes the bus home.
b By usage
“by + 交通工具”is regular prepositional phrase,it means that using some kind of vehicle 。
