III.Analysis of students
This topic is about giving directions of different places in daily life. Students of Grade Seven are curious about the things related to their daily life.Before learning this lesson,students have learned the expressions of asking the way to different places.
IV. Teaching procedures
Step 1: Warming-up
1.The whole class say the slogan of Momoda Super Family aloud:
We are super super super friendly!
We are very very very glad to help others!
2.Create a learning situation:
T: As we all know, Niulang(牛郎) and Zhinv(织女) love each other, but they can’t meet each other.What a pity! But tomorrow is a special day. It’s May 20th!
So Niulang finds Yuhuangdadi(玉皇大帝) and says, “Dear Yuhuangdadi, tomorrow is 520 wo ai ni. I really miss my Zhinv. Can you please help me ” Yuhuangdadi thinks for a while and says, “Well, I am learning English these days and now I have to finish some tasks, but I am too busy. If you help me finish them, I will help you.
Niulang accepts the tasks, but it’s too difficult for him to finish! He is coming to our Momoda Super Family to ask for help. Will you help him
T leads Ss to answer, “Yes, of course! We are Momoda Super Family! We are very very very glad to help others!”
3.Show the rule of the group competition: The group that gets the highest score while helping Niulang to finish the tasks will be the winner.
Step 2: Presentation
1. Show some pictures and learn the new words and phrases.
(Task 1: Read the words and phrases aloud !)
2. Present the new expressions by finishing the sentences according to the flash or short video.
(Task 2: Finish the sentences!)
3. Play a game: Jump up to translate the sentences as quickly as possible. 2 points each.
(Task 3: Jump up to answer!)
Step 3: Listening (Task 4)
1.Listen and write the correct place for each letter in the picture.(Finsh1b)
2.Listen again. Fill in the blanks.(Finish 1c)
3.Listen carefully for the third time and follow the MP3 sentence by sentence.
4.Role-play.
1)The whole class work. The boys act as A, and the girls act as B.
2)Pair work. Practice the conversation in pairs. Then some pairs come to the platform to role play the conversation. 4 points for each pair.
Step 4: Speaking (Task 5)
1.Imagine you and your partner are the two people in the picture in 1b. Ask and answer about the places.(Finish 1d)
2.Some volunteers act out the new conversations and the teacher record them to the mobile phone.(The records can be used in the following lessons,like sharing the excellent one or finding mistakes from the record,etc.) 6 points for each pair.
Step 5: Practice (Task 6)
Play a game to find the places from the map.The students can only finish the game by cooperating with their partners. 6 points if passing the game.
