1、 学习方法的指导:培养学生观察力,想象力,记忆力以及思维能力。用生动的课件调动学生的感官进行听说读写的训练。
2、 学习能力的培养:通过连贯的听说读写,培养学生的阅读能力,发展他们的思维能力。
【教学手段】 运用多媒体辅助教学,将本课所需要的录音、图片、文字制成PPT课件,使抽象的语言变得直观,为学生运用英语进行交际创设情境,实现师生互动,生生互动的多向交流。

【教学过程】
Step1 :Warming up and Lead-in
1. Play an English song: Happy Birthday to you.T:What do you eat on your birthday
(Purpose: This activity stimulates students’ learning enthusiasm and leads Ss to review some words about foods.)
Step 2: Pre-reading
Work on 2a:
1. Work in groups. Discuss what do you do or eat on your birthday
2. Ss take turns to talk about it.
S1: I usually get many nice gifts from my parents. I usually have a nice dinner in a restaurant.
S2: My parents usually buy me some nice books and school things on my birthday.
S3: ….
3. Ask a student to give a report to the class.
Step3:While-reading
Work on 2b:
1. Students listen to the recorder,choose the main idea of each paragragh.
2. Students read the article by themselves,write T or F for each sentence.
3.Let Ss read the chart below. Tell Ss, this time they must write the food and the special meaning in the chart. Make sure they know what to do.
2. Play the recording for the Ss to complete the chart.
(Purpose: This activity gives Ss listening practice with the target language and it also give Ss practice in listening for specific items in the text.)
Work on 2c:
3.Careful reading. Read the messages again. Find the answers to the questions in 2c.
Have the students work in groups. Ask them to discuss the questions in groups.
4. Check the answers with the Ss.
Step 4:After-reading
Ask students to read each pargragh carefully,and then fill in the blanks without looking at their books.
Step5 :Summary
1.Revise the target language, then give a brief summary .
2.If time limits, do some exercises for consideration
