Unit 3 Could you please clean your room Section B reading
I. Teaching Aims
(1)Develop students’ cognitive ability of the new words and phrases.
Have enough stress, a waste of their time, spend their time on sth, in order to , there is no need to , it is not enough to .
(2)Develop students’ ability to abstract effective information using reading strategies and skills.
(3)Improve relations between parents and children;
Ss do as much housework as they can.

(2)To enable the Ss to understand the reading passage .
(3)To draw the Ss’ interest in English .
III. Teaching Difficult Points :
Ss learn to get main idea by using skimming to improve their reading skills and strategies .

V : The Teaching Methods
1 . skimming and scanning. 2. group learning method.

1.Learn in groups and in pairs.
2.learn to use the reading strategy-- skimming
VII : Teaching Procedure
Step1 Greetings and Revision
Greet the students,review some chores students learned before the class (make the bed;sweep the floor;fold the clothes...etc)and present the teaching aims for this class to students.
Step2 Predicting
Let students look at the big screen and guess what the topic of reading is about today by giving them the hints one by one.Then discuss the topic “Should young people do chores at home ”
Step3 Reading
1. First reading.
Present the reading strategy “skimming”on the big screen and lead the students to read the two letters using skimming the first time and then answer the questions.(the questions are about the main idea of each of the two letters)
2. Second reading.
5 minutes will be given to the students to do the second reading and finish the mind map of the two letters.let students understand the structure of each letter(opinion,reasons and conclusion)
3. Third reading
Let students find Pros and cons about kids doing chores and find out which sentence in two letters they agree or disagree and why.
Step4 conclusion
Direct students to think about the question “why do they have different opinions on children doing chores ”and let them understand the fact that they may have different opinions on children’s education and no matter what they do they do it for the children’s future.
