Step 1Lead In GreetingsGet Ss review the information about baby pandas To get Ss review and lead to the new lesson.
Step2 Pre-reading Introduce some key new words;Lead Ss to get to know about endangered animals and their living situationsSs talk about pandas with the help of given words.(2a) To arouse Ss’ interest in the new lesson, and get them know what it is about.
Step3While reading Scanning 1. Have Ss move their eyes down the page get the specific information (What do the numbers mean ) and introduce the reading strategy of Scanning to Ss.(2b) To get Ss practice the reading strategy more .
2. Encourage Ss to scan the passage to find the answers to the questions.(2c)
Careful reading (Group work): Have students read the passage in details in groups of four with different tasks assigned to group members, and then check their answers. To Improve Ss’ teamwork and develop their abilities individually as well as developing reading comprehension.
Step 4 Post reading Consolidation Have Ss finish some exercises about words (Check with Forclass 【dcf】) To check if Ss have grasped the key words.
Summary Have Ss fill in the blanks to review what they have leant about pandas.(Check with Forclass 【dcf】) To check if Ss have grasped the key and phrases.
Discussion Ss work in groups discussing the topic, then Student Ds report the group ideas. (Photos taken and displayed on the screen to share with the other Ss)(2e) To Improve Ss’ teamwork and offer Ss opportunities to use the target language in natural speech.
