一、教材分析
本教材是人教版初中九年级下学期Unit10 You are supposed to shake hands.本单元主要学习不同国家的餐桌礼仪,让学生了解不同地域的饮食文化和风俗习惯,旨在培养学生跨文化交际的功能。在任务型语言教学模式下,采用主体参与型学习模式,以及小组合作学习、探究学习等,融汇话题、交际功能和语言结构,形成了一套循序渐进的生活化的学习程序。
二、学情分析
我所教的是九年级的同学,他们即将面临毕业,学习紧张,课程又多,学习压力也大,各门课程需要协调,合理安排时间尤为重要。同学们的学习状况又进入了一个相对“稳定”的时期。经过将近三年的初中学习,新授内容基本结束,而同学们在学习过程中随着克服困难的次数增加,也积累了很多处理问题的经验,学习兴趣和积极性应当有一个理性的回归,他们正处于由“谷底”缓缓上升的过程,这时,如果教师能及时引导,学习兴趣和学习积极性将会再达到一个顶峰。
三、教学目标
1、知识目标
⑴掌握单词:shake hands ,custom, bow, kiss, drop by, after all
⑵正确运用短语:be supposed to, should do sth,
⑶句型: A: What are you supposed to do when you meet someone for the first time
B: We are supposed to shake hands/bow/kiss.
2、能力目标
(1)、学生能在自主学习的环境中探索、合作、交流。
(2)、学生能够通过对话练习、多媒体课件教学,迅速掌握所学内容。
(3)、学生能够掌握一些外国的风俗文化习惯,培养跨文化交际的能力。
3、情感目标
(1)通过小组讨论的活动方式来激发学生的学习积极性和兴趣,使学生在小组合作学习活动中大胆用英语交流。
(2)关注学生的个性发展,为学生创设宽松、民主、和谐的课堂气氛。
(3)培养学生注重文明礼仪, 遵守班规校纪的良好习惯.
[设计理念]采用合作学习和小组讨论方式组织教学。在教学活动中,将本单元各环节自然衔接起来,学生在轻松、愉快的学习氛围中掌握本单元的教学内容。
四、教学重点难点分析
教学重点:要求学生掌握be supposed to do sth的句型,小组讨论并进行对话表演,充分运用动作、表情、手势来体现较真实的语言环境。
教学难点:通过交流表达和听力训练,引入各种学习方法和策略来学习不同国家的风俗礼仪.
[设计理念]为了很容易地突破这个难点,可以让学生课下上网查阅有关资料,然后在上课进行小组讨论,并整合每个小组得到的信息;然后由小组长代表全组成员表达他们组的信息资料给全班同学。
五、教学方法设计
充分利用多媒体课件上课,采用情景法、游戏法、小组讨论合作法,为学生创设轻松、真实的语言学习环境。

Talk about what people in different countries do when they meet for
the first time.
Step3. Listening and matching
Listen to the tape for what people do when they meet for the first time, then look at the pictures and match the countries with the customs. Check the answers.
Step4. Doing pair work
Let the students practice in pairs.
S1: What are you supposed to do when you meet sb. for the first time
S2: We are supposed to ……
Now tell each other what they know about meeting for the first time. When they make a pair work , they’d better act it out.
Step5 . Listening practice

Students are divided into four groups , they change their seats with the paper on the desk , they discuss freely then they can make a report or act it out.
Step7. Role-play the conversation about 2d.
Step8. Group work
Teacher: What kind of students do you think are the best behaved ones in your class Students make lists all the standards.
S1: They’re supposed to say, “Good morning, teachers. ”when they meet their teachers.
S2: They’re supposed to obey all the school rules.
