90% Ss can master the words(tiger, panda, giraffe, elephant,, lion koala)and the the description words(beautiful, interesting, scary, smart,cute)as well as the sentence structure: Let’s see the pandas!
Why do you like pandas
Because they are very cute.
Where are they from
They are from China.
2. Ability objective
Most Ss can use the new words and sentence structures freely and properly in their daily life to talk about animals.
3. Emotional objective
This lesson will promote Ss’ awareness of animal protection.

The differences between kind of and very.

Ss can use the knowledge in a real situation.
4、Teaching methods
Task-based language teaching method, audio-visual method, direct method.

Multimedia, blackboard and word cards.
6、Teaching procedure
Step 1 Leading in(5 minutes)
1. Daily English speech
2. Free talks:
After 2 Ss’ speeches ,T asks some questions according to their speeches to review what they have learned before and warm up.
3. Guessing game
T shows a box and leads Ss to guess what kind of animal is in the box.
1 minute later, check the answer(a monkey). T leads: Do you like monkeys What do you think of monkeys Do you want to see more animals Let’s go to the zoo.
4. Song
On the way to the zoo, listen to a song: Animals! Animals are everywhere.
Step 2 Presentation(18 minutes)
1. T shows pictures and sound to lead in 6 kinds of animals. T asks Ss What do you think of the .... Leads Ss to describe these animals by the description words.Ss make sentences like: Let’s see the panda,it is cute to practice.
2. Presents 2 pictures: a very big elephant and a kind of big elephant. Ss understand the differences between very and kind of. Then make sentences to consolidate.
3. Show all the pictures of animals. Ss make sentences like: I like the ...best. Because it’s....
4. Game : Memory challenge to remember the words clearly.
5. Match the words with the pictures to finish the task in 1a.
Step3 Listening(8 minutes)
1. Listen to the tape and finish the task in 1b.
2. Read follow the tape and check the answers.
3. Pair work:-Let’s see the....
-Why do you want to see them
-Because they are very/kind of....
Step4 Listening(10 minutes)
1. Show pictures about panda/lions/koalas and lead to the sentence structures:
-Let’s see the...
-Why do you like them
-Because they’re....
-Where are they from
-They’re from....
2. Listen to the type for the first time, finish the task in 2a.
3. Listen to the type for the second time, finish the task in 2b.
4. Listen and read follow the type, check the answers.
5. Pair work: Ss work in pairs, make conversations like 2b to talk about animals.
Step5 Summary(3 minutes)
Ss are encouraged to summarize what they have learned today. After that, review the words and sentences together. Lead Ss know that animals are our friends,we should be good with them.
