Meaningful teaching, Interactive teaching, Task-based teaching
Teaching Procedures:
Step1. Organization (greet the students as usual)
Step2. Lead in (show a video)
While leading in, the teacher can write the topic on the blackboard.
Step3. New words teaching
Step4. Listening practice
Activity1: Listen for the first time and circle the description words you can hear in 1a;
Activity2: Listen for the second time,then fill in the blank.
(When the students answer the questions, the teacher should lead them to answer just like this: Mary says elephants are…)
Step5: Pair work
According to the sample, make up a new dialogue with their partners and talk about their favorite animals, then act out in class.
Step5: Guessing game
After playing the guessing game, ask the students to fill in the blanks with the words in the box. Meanwhile, help the students pay attention to the language points.
Step5: Group work
(Add more words in the chart and then report.)
Eg: There are lots of animals in the zoo. I like pandas because they are….Tony likes…because…
Step5: Writing
Topic1.Write a description of a panda using the words in the box;
Topic2. write about your favorite animal using your own ideas .
(The students can choose any topic that he likes to write)
Step5: Emotional education (enjoy small part of a video)
