Procedures:
Step1. Greeting and show the studying aims of this class.
Step2.Warming up:
1) Give the Ss two minutes to read the numbers on the paper they have got before this class.
2) Ask the Ss to read the numbers aloud.
3) Ask the Ss to read the words thousand and million after me.(on the Bb)
Step3.Presentation:
1.Look at the PPT, introduce them and use numbers and the tallest to talk about them.
2.Show other pictures about mountains, rivers ,deserts and lakes, introduce them and use numbers and the highest, the longest, the biggest and the deepest to talk about them. Learn the words: Qomolangma, the Nile,the Caspian Sea, the Sahara, desert.
Step4.Practice:
1.Work on 1a.Match the facts you know.
Let the Ss read the names and the description about them, match them and check the answers.
2. Work on 1b.
1)Read the sentences with blanks and guess the answers.
2) Listen and complete the sentences.
3) Check the answers.
4) Read the sentences together.
3.Work on 1c. Use the information in 1b to make conversations.
1) Give an example, then give the Ss three minutes to write questions on their books. The more, the better.
2) Ask one student to ask, the other St answer together. Then another student ask, the other St answer. Their questions should be different.
3) Show the conversations, let the Ss read together.
