教学目标:
1. Read the three passages about Anna,John and Lisa. (阅读三篇短文。)2. Learn two reading skills: scanning and detailed reading . (学习并掌握两种阅读技巧: 浏览、细读)3. Learn how to describe your neighborhood. (学会如何描述自己居住的小区。)
教学重点:
1. Read three passages about Anna,John and Lisa,and understand the passages by finishing
some tasks. (阅读短文,并通过完成一定的教学任务理解三篇短文。)2. Learn two reading skills: scanning and detailed reading . (学习两种阅读技巧: 浏览、细读)
教学难点:1. How to describe the neighborhood after reading. ( 如何描述自己居住的小区。)
2. How to describe a road. ( 如何描述路线。)
教学方法:
Task reading.
教具:
The blackboard, the multimedia , the textbook.
教学步骤:
Step 1 Lead-in & Revision
1. Watch a video about how to ask for directions and give directions.
2. After watching the video , Students answer the following two questions :
1) What is Chris doing on the video ( giving directions指路)
2) What are the other people doing on the video (asking for directions 问路)
[设计意图]:此环节通过观看问路与指路的视频倒入课堂,把学生很好的带入学习的情境之中,既能调动学生的学习兴趣 ,又能通过视频的情景使学生进一步复习如何问路和指路,同时也是为本节课的下一个教学环节做准备。
3. Show a map on the screen, then tell students:
Lucy wants to go to the Park. But she is new here.Can you tell her how to get there
Then ask two students to act out how to ask and answer the direction like on the video before the class. One is Lucy, the other should tell Lucy how to get to the park.
For example:
A: Hi. Excuse me.
B: Yes. How can I help you
A: I’m new here. Is there a park near here
B: Yes. You just go along Long street and turn right at the second crossing. Then it is on your
left, behind the library, on the Bridge Street.
A: Thank you.
B: You are welcome.
[设计意图]:这一表演环节的设计既是模仿视频对话,又是对本单元前面所学内容的复习。同时也与本节课所学重点之一(描述自己居住的小区)有密切的联系。
4. Show the learning objective (呈现学习目标 ):
1). Read three passages about Anna,John and Lisa. (阅读三篇短文。)
2). Learn two reading skills: scanning and detailed reading .
(学习并掌握两种阅读技巧: 寻读、细读)
3). Learn how to describe your neighborhood. (学会如何描述自己居住的小区。)
[设计意图]:课前让学生明确学习目标有利于学生明确课内的学习任务和学习重点,
从而提高学生的自主学习效率。
Step 2 Reading
Before reading:
Ask students to watch the three maps at page 47. Teacher can go through the maps with the whole class. Make sure students know the neighborhood on each map.
[设计意图]:让学生在阅读文章之前先看图是为了使学生更快更好的完成下一教学任务Read and match。
While-reading:
Task 1 Read and match
Work on 2b( fast-reading ):
1. Ask students to go through the passages quickly and match each passage with a map.
Students only have one minute to finish it (1 minute). Show the reading skill to the students:
【阅读策略(scanning)】: 寻读,找关键词。
快速浏览短文的第一句或最后两句,寻找关键词。
2. Check the answers by asking some students to show their answers. Correct the mistakes if
necessary.
[设计意图]:教给学生一定的阅读策略,并在学习中实践和运用,以培养学生的阅读技巧,提高学生的阅读能力,从而提高学习效率和解题能力。
Task 2 Read and answer questions.
Work on 2c ( carefully-reading):
1. Have students read the three passages again and find the answers to the following questions.
This time they should read the passages carefully. They have 3 minutes to prepare(3 minutes).
Before the task, ask some students to translate each questions into Chinese.

2. Show students the following reading skill:
【阅读策略( Detailed reading)】: 仔细阅读,把握细节
1). 带着问题仔细阅读文章寻找答案,并在文中划出关键句 ;
2). 回答时注意人称和数的变化;同时注意理解同义词或同义短语的意思。
[设计意图]:阅读方法指导是阅读课的教学重点,教给学生一些阅读方法对提高学生的阅读能力很有帮助。
3. Then check the answers by asking some students to show their answers. If necessary, correct the mistakes.
Task 3: Read and draw the maps
1. Have students read the three passages again and then draw the road maps. Students only
have one minute to finish the task (1 minute).
2. Then check the answers by asking three students to draw the road maps on the the screen.
Task 4: Enjoy reading
Ask students to read aloud the three passages about Anna, John and Lisa.
Step 3 Practice
After reading
1. Challenge yourself:
Ask students to say something about Anna, John and Lisa. Students will have two minutes to prepare. (2 minutes)
The following questions may help them:
1) Where do you live
2) What is your favorite place in your neighborhood Why?
3) How do you get there from your home
Then ask three students to report.
[设计意图]:完成了一定的阅读任务之后,再指导学生对课文内容作一个简单的复述,这不仅能加深学生对文章的理解,更重要的是培养学生的逻辑思维能力、概括信息能力和语言表达能力等。
2. Play a game
Students must choose one person and then there is a task behind each person.
Lisa:
Translate the sentence into English(汉译英):

[设计意图]:通过游戏节目来检测学生对课文中的难点句子的理解和记忆,避免了单纯的z做练习的枯燥,增加了课堂的趣味性。
