Types of poem
The poem in the textbook is a rhyming poem with an a-b-c-b rhyme scheme. However, unlike traditional rhyming poems, its rhythm and stress patterns are not regular.

Get Ss to work on the answers to the last question first. In pairs, get Ss to discuss what the writer’s feelings were with regards to these various events. They can then work on their own feeling.
