1. prefer…to…的用法：
prefer = like better表示长时间的、一贯性的喜欢;
① prefer sth. To sth.，意思是：与…相比，更喜欢…，如：I prefer English to math.
② prefer doing sth. To doing sth.，意思是：与做什么相比，更喜欢做什么，
如：Tom prefers singing to dancing.与跳舞相比，汤姆更喜欢唱歌。
prefer to do sth(表示一时性的喜欢)
prefer to do A rather than do B 与做B事相比，更喜欢做A事情。
Key Points
2. would rather“宁愿，更喜欢”，后接动词原形，否定形式在rather后面加not， 疑问式将would 提前，would rather没有人称变化，常用于句型would rather do sth than do sth，意思是：“比起做…更愿意做…..；宁愿做…,而不愿做……”
此句型相当于would do sth rather than do sth.。例如：I would rather stay at home than go out in such bad weather.
这么糟糕的天气,我宁愿待在家中,也不愿出去。
当than前后的动词一致时，为避免重复，后者可省略。例如：I would rather play football than basketball.
would rather do sth.=prefer to do sth 更喜欢做某事，
would rather do sth than do sth.= prefer to do sth rather than do sth.
