毫无疑问,地球是在变暖(见图一),而地球变暖正是人类活动导致的,并非是一种无规律的自然现象。图1:1860-2000年长期平均温度差所有的科学家都赞同这种观点:人们为了生产能量而燃烧化石燃料(如煤、天然气和石油等),从而引起了地球温度的升高。这个升温过程的一些副产品就叫做“温室”气体,其中最重要的就是二氧化碳。贾尼丝·福斯特博士解释说:“有一种科学家称之为‘温室效应’的自然现象。这种现象的发生是因为在大气层中少量的气体(如二氧化碳、甲烷、水蒸汽等)吸收太阳的热量,从而使地球变暖。如果没有这种‘温室效应’,地球的温度将比现在的温度还要低33摄氏度左右。因此,我们需要这些气体。当我们的大气层中增加了大量额外的二氧化碳时,问题就来了。这意味着更多的热量要被困在大气层中,从而引起全球温度上升。” 我们知道,在过去100~150年期间,二氧化碳的含量急剧增加了。有一位名叫查尔斯·基林的科学家曾经把1957~1997年期间大气层中二氧化碳的含量作了精确的统计。他发现,在这些年里,大气层中的二氧化碳含量从315/1000 000上升到370/1000 000。(见图二)

看图作文是常见的写作题型。写看图作文时,如果同学们按以下六步答题,效果可能会好得多。

1.it 在强调句中的用法
it 可用来对句子谓语以外的某一成分进行强调,强调句的基本句型为:It+动词be+被强调部分+who(m)/that+其它部分。被强调部分指人,引导词用who/that均可,被强调部分是人,并且在句中作宾语时,可用whom/who/that引导。强调其它部分,一律用that。被强调的部分是原句的主语时,who/that之后的谓语动词在人称和数上与该主语一致。
(1)It was Jane who paid for the meal yesterday.(=It was Jane and not another person.)
昨天的饭钱是简付的。
(2)It was the meal that Jane paid for yesterday.(=It was a meal and not something else.)
简昨天付的是饭钱。2.强调结构和主语从句句型(It+be+adj./n.+that其它部分)的区别。
(1)强调结构可以翻译成“正是……”或“就是……”
(2)含有主语从句的句子删掉It be...that/who,则原句在结构上和意义上均不成立,而强调结构若去掉结构标志后,原句在结构上和意义上仍然成立。

(这是强调句,去掉It is...that/who后,句子仍然成立。)

(It作形式主语,代替后面由that引导的主语从句,去掉It is...that后,句子不能成立。)3.强调句型和It+动词+一段时间+before/when/that/since句型的区别。
(1)强调句型:It+is/was+被强调部分+who(m)/that+其它部分。
It was not until he came back that his mother went to bed.
(2)It is+时间段+since 从句(一般过去时/过去完成时)。
It's years since we enjoyed ourselves so much.
我们已有好多年没有这么开心过了。
(3)It was/will be+时间段+before 从句(一般过去时/一般现在时).

不久,他就入了党。(4)It was+时间点+when从句(一般过去时)

(这不是强调句。it指时间, when引导时间状语从句。)
比较:It was at 12 o'clock that he came back to school.
