【教材分析】
本单元的中心话题是通过运用一些方位介词来询问某一场所的位置，主要内容都是围绕问路、指路的一些语言项目展开的，例如：Where引导的特殊疑问句和Is there… 句型等。该话题与学生的日常生活紧密联系在一起，容易唤起学生的学习兴趣，这对于提高学生的综合能力很有帮助，特别是说的能力。通过本单元的学习，学生不仅要进一步掌握方位介词的用法和一些建筑物的名称，并用要学会阐述某一场所中各个建筑物之间的位置关系；同时能够利用地图向他人介绍自己所居住的社区，并能够识别简单的路线图。并培养学生在实际生活中辨别方向的能力，养成热心助人的确品质。
【教学目标】
知识目标：
1.词汇：重点掌握表示建筑物种类的名词、方位副词、方位介词

3．重点句型
1）Turn right at the second crossing.
2）Where’s the supermarket --It’s across from the post office.
3）Go straight down New Street and turn right.
4）Turn left at Bridge Street.

能力目标：
1、能看着图片说话出建筑物的名称；
2、能运用一般现在时询问街道上某一场所的位置；
3、能够运用所学语言为他人指明 某一场所的路线；
4、能够描述某一场所各建筑物之间的位置关系；
5、能够向他人介绍行走路线；
情感目标：
通过学习本单元的内容，使学生在实际生活中能够识别方向，养成乐于助人的好习惯，培养学生的合作精神，教会学生礼貌待人，建立和睦的邻里关系_

【教学重点】
1.学习掌握表示方位的介词词汇以及一些建筑物的名称，如across form, behind, between, in front of , left ,right, near , park , pay phone, restaurant, supermarket.
2.掌握一些关于问路、指路方面的句子以及回答，如Where is … Is there a …
【教学难点】
1.正确理解：across form, next to , between, on , near, along , straight
2.运用所学的句型和方位介词为他人指明某一场所的路线，设计自己理想的居住环境。
【学习策略】
1、利用老师所提供的图片做出简单的判断，利用教室横纵座位摆放,找出四条街道并一一命名,学习相关方位介词以及行走路线的英文表达。
2、通过与同学交流，学会使用问路指路，对地点特征做出简单描述的句型。
【教学过程】

Step 1. Warming-up and revision
Speak out 12 place words according the photo of people working there
Step 2. Presentation:
Listen a song rabbit Dance to get the key words as follows:
Suppose the rabbit is lost , can you help it to find the way to its home
New word s: turn left turn right at the crossing on the left on the right
1. turn right/left 意为“向右/左拐”；在这里right和left都是副词，意为“向右；向左”。
向左拐，你会找到那家宾馆。
Turn left and you can find that hotel.
2. go along/down … “沿着……走”, down和along都是介词用法。
沿着顺河走，公园就在右边。
Walk along/down River Street and the park is on the right.
3. on the right/left 意为“在右面/在左面”
on one’s right/left 意为“在某人的右面/左面”
在右面有一家银行。
There is a bank on the right.
沿着这条路走，图书馆就在你的左面。
Walk down this road and the library is on your left.
4. at the first crossing 在第一个十字路口
在第二个十字路口向右拐。
Turn right at the second crossing.

Divide the class into two groups, a boy group and a girl group
Student A helps Student B, Whose eyes are covered ,to find the place he or she wants to go .
The group with the more scores wins!
