Step 1 Warming-up
Step 2 Presentation
1. Present four kinds of music (pop, rock, country music, classical music) by making students watch some videos or listen to some pieces of music.
2. Get students show different feelings to different kinds of music.
Step 3 Listening
Set three tasks here.
Task1 Listen to a conversation between Alex and Dave. Write A for Alex or D for Dave next to each opinion.
Task2 Fill in the missing words while listening.
Task3 Listen again and take notes.
Step 4 Practice
Different people like different bands’ musicians. Have a free talk in the group to talk about their favorite bands’ musicians.
Step5 Consolidation
Let students take out the posters they have made it before. Then use the
information they talked about just now to say something to support their favorite singer or band.(Give the sample to help them.)
Step 6 Summary
Write four kinds of music on the blackboard. Then show the different feelings next to each kind of music.
