Teaching Procedures
Step 1. Warm-up and Lead-in
1) Greet the whole class
2) Enjoy the song together
T : Hello, boys and girls. I’m very happy now, because I listened to a beautiful song last night. How wonder it is. Do you want to listen to it Ss : Yes……
Step 2. Learn the New Words and Phrases
1) Ss learn the new words and phrases by learning some knowledge of Michael Jackson.
2) Encourage students to talk about their favorite singer.
Step 3. Extensive Reading
The teacher let the students go through the passage quickly and then answer the questions. Point out the reading strategies.
Q1: What kind of music
Q2: Who
Q3: Read and match the ideas.
Step 4. Intensive Reading
Activity 1. The teacher let the students use the reading strategies to read each of the paragraph carefully and complete the tasks.
Activity 2. Let the students read the passage again and then write a short summary of the passage.
Activity 3. Close the book and remember the facts of country music.
Step 5. Thinking and Enjoying
1) Let the students think the question and make a discussion in a group.
2) Enjoy a piece of country music.
